I finished book one last night. If the rest of the books are as full of brand-name dropping as this one, I might give myself and aneurysm from all the eye-rolling. I mean, seriously, Sara Shepard, give it up. 

Other than that, yes, the first book was essentially the first episode of the show. I only bought the first four books, so I hope that isn't the case for the rest of the series!!

    I need to move on to book 2.  At least it gives me something mindless to do.

    I totally agree with the brand name dropping.  I was surprised as it ages the books.

    I read those books a long time ago but from what I remember the show started to really deviate from them early on. I enjoyed them, they were fun reads but I didn't finish the series. I think I only read up to 8 or 9. There's just so damn many of them I wish she'd write longer books so there were fewer of them.

    I'm on book 2. After book 1, it doesn't follow the series as much, but the name dropping continues. 

    I still can't get over the character descriptions. I feel like I keep imagining the tv characters with wigs.

    I think it was Mona that they were describing with blonde hair in part that I just read. I'm just going to keep pretending they're the people in the shows & ignoring the book descriptions, haha.

    I'm finally reading Book 2! The name-dropping isn't AS bad in this one, but the character descriptions are still killing me.
