Why am I so weirdly excited to get FI his wedding band

It's like dress level excitement. He says he will wear it always, even though I told him he didn't have to because he's the kind of man that would hate jewelry. I'm excited to have him try them on and everything. I never knew anyone to even really care about the man's ring.

I WANT TO MARK HIM AS MY TERRITORY

  • FI can't wear his ring to work, and therefore will only be wearing it on special occasions. I'm still kinda jazzed to get it though.

This is H. I think it looks so handsome on him.
  • My FI can wear his band to work, but I won't let him because it will get JACKED UP. It's really not advised to wear rings at his work, but nothing in the rules says he can't.

  • I love my husband's ring, and I love how it looks on him. Part of it's because it's a lovely piece of jewelry, and part of it is because it marks him as mine and marks us as married. :)
  • I'm totally with you. When he tried on his band, I got all the feels. And it looks so damn good on him.
  • My H is an electrician so he can't wear metal. He decided he wanted a gold band that he wouldn't wear to work. After the wedding, he didn't want to take it off and wore it to work. It was adorable. But he knew he shouldn't and apparently some sort of something on his finger is important to him so he went out and got my name tattooed on his finger. Again, adorable.

  • H can't wear his to work but when we does wear it on the weekends or for special occasions I really like it.  I find it sexy, is that weird?
  • FI ruined a few rings during his 3 year marriage (13 years ago). He was super-excited when he saw the cheap titanium bands on amazon- $20, supposedly hard to ruin.

We ordered 1 and have a spare kept in my shopping car so we can see if they ever get discontinued or clearanced so I can get a few backups.

I was pretty psyched when we ordered them!

It's always kind of a turn on to see a wedding band on any man.(I promise I never would do anything with someone with a band).

  • I'm totally with you. My **H** looks so damn good in his ring!

We did end up with two rings, because his knobby fingers are so hard to fit. The one that fits his skinny finger best is really hard to get over his knuckle, and I didn't want to have to fight with it during the ceremony, so he got a back-up from K-Mart literally the day before the wedding. But mmmmm it's just like the period on a sentence of a sexy man. The ring is like "yep, somebody loves me because I'm awesome."

  • I'm not sure who was more excited to get his ring - me or H. I still catch him admiring it sometimes ;). We had to drop it off to get re-sized b/c he's loosing the weight I'm gaining and he about threw a shit fit when they said it was going to take up to 2 weeks. Yep, he's definitely a man smitten with his ring!

  • My husband wears his ring 24/7. He even sleeps in it (mostly because once he takes it off, he forgets to put it back on). But I love it when we are in bed and I see that he's wearing it.

Same here!!  Not to mention the risk of having their hands crushed by tools and equipment and I read a bunch of horror stories of fingers having to be amputated/rings having to sawed off because of hands swelling underneath them.  Yikes!  He wants to get a couple cheap metal bands (like titanium or something) so he can just leave one in his truck and have one at home.  I have mentioned the tattoo idea, but this is the guy who is terrified of needles, so it's probably not going to happen, haha.

  • I loved ordering FI's ring.  Actually he wears a cheap "man-gagement" ring (not really a fan of that term) because he loves being marked as my territory as much as he loves seeing me wear my ring.  :)

  • I cried when we picked out H's ring. I love it so much.

Haha if men only knew we were marking them as our territory.. Mwahahahaha. Really though the OP made me laugh a lot. I felt exactly that way, as well as other PPs. I love H's ring, it's unique and looks really good on him, and it turns me on to see him wear it because dammit he's taken and he's MINE.

  • FI will be wearing his dad's wedding band.

His dad has passed away and all of his siblings agreed that he should have it.

    It's incredibly emotional for me.

  • I got FI and engagement ring after he had proposed. We went on a nice picnic and I proposed to him too.

He wears it everyday. When he plays guitar, especially slide, it gets in the way so he just moves it to the other hand then moves it back. He sleeps in it and everything.

  • Hmmm I know what you mean, I'm pretty psyched to be getting the ring for my FI too. Now that he has finally chosen one. He's been wanting to get a ring tattoo underneath it but I'm very uncomfortable at the idea so he decided he won't do it.

Yeah - I couldn't imagine working a job where I could DIE everyday. The worst I get here is a papercut.

H is pretty sentimental for a tattooed biker looking guy. He didn't want to just have "a ring" - he wanted THE ring used during the ceremony so we went with gold. It can be fixed if it needs to be cut off for any reason and stuff like that.

I knew H was getting a tattoo for me (he got a penguin because I freaking love penguins) but I was so surprised to see my name on his knuckle when he got home! It was cute when he looked at his ring and went "well, I guess I'll put this in the safe..." all sad about it. Freaking precious.

  • We had FI's ring custom made... we love it and I could not be more excited for him to start wearing it. It will be hit or miss if he can wear it at work, but he (who also rarely wears jewelry) is also really excited about it.
  • I loved getting FI his ring!  He is so excited about wearing it, which gives me the warm and fuzzies!

I will also add, he was way more high maintenance in picking out a ring.  He ended up with a stainless steel one, but we looked at SO MANY RINGS.  "This ring is too big, this one is too shiny, this one is too fancy, etc."  I am happy that he found one that he really likes.

YOU HAVE TO TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT THAT MADE.

...I mean. Please tell me where you got that made.

THIS. I think we looked at hundreds of rings online before he found one he actually liked.

  • You can also always create an online wish list, where he can pick out his favorites. Then you if you wanted to surprise him with one you already knew he would like you can. I know that titanium-jewelry.com has a 90 day reurn policy so if he didnt like it you can always return it;)
  • I was so happy when h finally got his ring. He doesn't wear it too often though. He picked it out and he likes it but he doesn't like to wear it when he is working because it gets in the way of this typing for some reason. He is actually thinking about getting something tattooed on this ring ring. Like a black band for my initial or something.
  • DH has a titanium ring with a plain silver-ish exterior and secret blue interior. Heehee, I thought it was so cute and sweet when he picked it out. He wears it everyday, which I love. He was not excited about wearing jewelry, but 4 months later he hardly notices.

But I do. It's not about marking my territory, it's about seeing the representation of my given and promised love and loyalty. I meant what I said, and I get warm fuzzies thinking about it when I look at his ring. And my simple, unadorned wedding band means worlds more to me than my precious engagement ring. I love wearing his words of promise to me. It's like carrying a piece of his heart wherever I go, while he carries a piece of mine.

Then happy I, that love and am beloved
