Re: Anyone around?

  • I'm here watching DateLine drinking a beer. DH is apparently getting his ass kicked at work.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I'm here. DH is at work still. I'm bored! Entertain me!

  • Can we talk about how obsessed I am with pumpkin beer? Literally, any kind and I love it. But I accidentally bought a Sam Adams "Oktoberfest" hoping it was pumpkin related but it's not. It's kinda nasty. You guys drinking anything interesting?

  • I'm here. FI just put dinner for schmucks on the tv.

  • I had a cranberry vodka earlier. My choice drink besides a sangria. They have diet cranberry juice with a hint of lime, and its perfect for the cocktail!

  • A concert version of "Sweeney Todd" is on PBS tonight.

  • Mmm DH and I love that 5 calorie cranberry juice! He gets mad that I always put it in my water and don't save him any for his cocktails, haha. We did buy some vodka earlier, so I may switch depending on how boring this game gets...

End of September/October is his cardinals baseball playoff time and he watches every single game. I've gotten a lot of brownie points for being a good wife and chugging through these long-ass games with him.

  • I'm watching Four Weddings and cuddling one of my kitties.  I'm just drinking water.

  • DH is here with me in the hospital. We're watching Shark Tank.

  • What are some some good threads on the other boards that I should go read? You know the shit shows.

  • Oh, I am here- came down with an awful virus and my hands hurt so bad I can barely type. No booze for me- watching Coming to America with H and just being generally miserable.

  • @Sugargirl1019‌- I don't know if you took part in the FI and money vent from the other day but that was crazy. I only commented once, and the thread just blew up before my eyes. I can't think of any other good ones off the top of my head

  • No sympathy for you @Sugargirl1019‌ you've had sex already tonight. ;) I'm getting revised car and homeowners insurance quotes, wooooo. DH is dealing with some very strange vertigo-esque symptoms that have hit him each of the last 3 evenings around 6. :-/

  • About to take a study break and watch The Office or Parks and Rec over here.  Suuper eventful Friday night.  I'm contemplating wine....but I'm also having tacos, so maybe a margarita instead?  Aside from the Fi and Money Vent thread in Chit Chat, not a whole lot has blown up.

  • Just got home from "Clue" and am waiting for my Advil PM to knock me out in the hopes I can kick this darn sinus infection!!
  • My doggie is sick. He has cancer and pants and licks incessantly. He cannot calm down. He's in pain and I feel so badly for him. He has lots of pep and good energy when he's not sleeping, which is how he spends most of his time. His eating is so erratic. Some days he eats his two meals and sometimes he goes two days without eating. He tries talking to me, like coming up to my face and moving his jaws like he's trying to tell me something. Sad face.

Hey. No judging. I hope you DH feels better, sometimes allergies/sinus pressure can mess with your inner ear.. Maybe try sudafed? Vertigo is a tricky thing.. I hope he feels better!

I did see that Fi money vent thread. Didn't know if etiquette or wedding party or snarky brides had anything good? Willing to search.

    BUT HOCUS POCUS IS ON!!

  • Resting up for a big party tomorrow. I am going to get white girl wasted and I don't even care EVER. I also submitted all my grad school apps, so I'm pretty excited about that!

Omg that makes me so sad. I'm so sorry for you and your pup. :-( Our family had to put our dog down earlier this month and sad, sick pups just make so fricken sad.

  • Things got boozy at a work luncheon (we like to pour the wine freely, especially when it's getting expensed), so job #2 was a bit painful tonight. Now I'm eating a later dinner and watching the news while DH snores away on the couch.

Haha no judgement, just jealousy. ;)

Sinus pressure/inner ear was my thought too, especially just having gone through all those pressure changes with flying, but he says he doesn't feel any more than his typical level of allergy stuffiness (he's allergic to his own dog). And it's weird that he's totally fine during the day and it hits suddenly in the evening. Does the barometric pressure drop at like 6pm?! The sun isn't even down/moon up by then. Idk. I'm worried about him.

It's the wedding.  You just rocked his world ;)

J/K  I deal with vertigo occasionally, and doctors never have good answers.  The best they've come up with is that I had chronic ear infections as a kid, and sinus/ENT stuff my whole life, so it's probably related to that.
