New Shows

Does anyone watch The Strain on FX or The Lottery on Lifetime?

Re: New Shows

  • I've been wondering about this. I've watched Forever (probably won't stick with), Red Band Society (maybe), and How to Get Away with Murder (I'm curious, but the "legalise" had me fuming). I've still got a few left, but at this point the only thing for sure added to rotation is Gothem. Bones has started off strong and Shield has as well. Scandal is just so meh, I'm not sure I'll be able to last this season. If she goes back to Fitz, I quit.

Yes, I tape RBS and watch on Sunday. HTGAWM is so so at the moment, but worth another watch. You know I'm going to stick with Scandal even while I complain. Those are about the only new shows I'm watching. I do like The Strain, and I'm only watching The Lottery because I started from the beginning.

I gave up of Resurrection, The Dome and Revenge last season.

I don't think that Blackish made the cut either.

  • I didn't watch it, but it seems like there is a big deal being made about Red Band Society.  But, with the exception of Scrubs and House, I usually don't get into hospital shows and I definitely don't like shows centered around children, so I definitely don't think I'm going to bother watching that one.

Super excited in NCIS: New Orleans, because I live there, though I somehow missed the premiere.  Darn it!  As for the regular NCIS, it has really gone downhill.  They've started acting like they are some kind of "international espionage spy" show, instead of a murder mystery show.

I really liked How to Get Away with Murder, but found the constant "future scenes" of a murder to be confusing and annoying.  And, since that "future" murder apparently takes place at Christmas, I have a feeling we are stuck with them for the season.

Don't EVEN get me started about Bones.  I am super mad about it.  I won't be a spoiler but, for those of you who watched it, you know why.  I'll still watch it, lol.  But that whole thing was very poorly done and showed the producers to just be "shock" whores.

  • I was actually pretty pissed at HTGAWM.  I mean, yay for having a diverse cast and another Rimes' show, but at least have one farkin' attorney consultant so you don't look like a complete ass.  The ethical considerations alone, then all the procedural stuff that was so warped and twisted was just awful.  It really bothered me and usually I can look past that stuff.  But I'm hooked enough to want to know how the murder happened.  I had starting assuming in the middle somewhere that she wasn't the victim; then I really wanted to know who/what/when/where/why it all happened.  So, I'm going to try.

Can I say I loved Mellie in the premiere?  "It's like 1976 in there".  And I'm super interested in Portia de Rossi's character.  I'm really just hoping they go back to actual politicking and scandals and stay off of Olivia's love life for awhile.  I'm glad Huck and Quinn seem to have broken up b/c that relationship was just gross.  And I love that Abby is in the inner sanctum, but not really.
  • I like How To Get Away with Murder.  I like the flash back stuff and trying to catch little things here and there to figure out where the plot is going on.  I also have unabashed love for Viola Davis.

I've been watching Madam Secretary.  It's just OK.  I don't pay that much attention when it's on because I'm usually winding down for the night and getting kids ready for bed.  So, I'm only half interested/invested in it.

Other than that, I haven't watched any new shows.  I think by far the show that has had the best return is The Good Wife.  Scandal, Greys, Sons of Anarchy, and Revenge have all been 'meh'.

I can't do the Strain.  Nope, nope, nope.
  • I tried NCIS New Orleans but man, I can't handle bad New Orleans accents.:)  I just watched the first one to see if I reconized any places.

Ugh, the Bones thing was terrible.  I'm quite bothered by it and I agree -- shock value alone, it's not furthering the story at all.  And one of my favorites!

I thought it started off strong b/c I like that Booth is fracturing.  I like that Bones is actually having to deal with not knowing what to do for once.  It had been getting somewhat boring just watching them be superhuman all the time, it's nice to see the crew off kilter again.  Their relationships and chemistry come through the most when it's not perfect.  Can I just say, YAY for Cam's hair starting to look normal again though?
  • I did like Tyrant from this summer. I think it was on FX.  The Divide was a bit slow on We tv but I stuck with it.

FX is putting out some good shows lately.

I'm serious, DC is going to burn down by the end of Scandal and Mellie is going to walking away while it's burning, holding the match.  And then everything will really be coming up Mellie.

I think that should be Shonda's next show...One that's Mellie centric.  (I know it's a pipe dream) She's hands down on of the top 5 characters Shonda has ever written.  Cristina Yang is up there too.
  • Yes, I love Mel.

I want her to start dating a fine brotha from the secret service detail.

Masters of Sex is heating up with the wife having her affair. I miss the President of the Univerisity's story line. That was a good one.

  • I am watching Scandal. That opening with Jake.... And I love Mellie. I just wish Fitz wasn't even in the show- he's a weak character.

NOLA, I'm watching The Strain. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Corey Stoll (Eph) has the worst hair piece.
  • I keep reading this as new shoes and getting jealous.  I don't like flashback so HTGAWM is bugging me. I'm betting it's the husband that gets it.
