Michigan October Wedding??

I'm newly engaged and the hunt has started for venue.  I wanted the beautiful fall colors close by.  An outdoors would be ideal however, Michigan weather is so hit or miss.

I'm from the Detroit area and my fiance lives in Novi area.  We're looking for a spot in between.  Does anyone have suggestions for a "fall" venue??

    Welcome to the Knot and congrats

    You probably want to post this on the Detroit board. There's a link on the left that says "Local Wedding Boards", go to the one for Detroit. I go there daily, and they are a REALLY nice bunch of ladies.

    I have friends who were married at their church and had the reception at Cherry Creek Golf Course in Shelby township in October, and they had their cocktail hour outdoors. It was chilly, but bearable if you had a sweater.

    I am planning an October wedding in Michigan in Ludington and it's gonna be an outdoor wedding.  So I just hope it doesn't snow! But with Michigan you can never tell might be a beautiful day!

    good iuck, lol as a newbie michigander i am learning first hand just how the weather changes, we had orginally planned an april wedding but FMIL says that wouldn't work so well so we changed to june to accomodate the weather.
