Candles, White or Ivory?

Do you have a preference?

We're having tons of candles and although my first thought is white, do you think ivory would feel more romantic? They are going to be used for 90% of the lighting in our reception so they are going to be noticeable.

I really don't have a preference. What does the rest of your decor look like? What other colors are you using? If you are using more bright and bold then I would go with white but if you are going with more pastels and softer colors then ivory may be better.

And for me, when candles are burning I rarely notice the color of the candle but rather my eye is drawn to the light being emitted by the candles.

I would go with ivory then. White can look really stark against anything but another pure white.

I will always choose ivory over white, because I do think it's softer and more romantic. Stark white is so harsh on my eyeballs.

I didn't think I cared until I ordered white for the wedding. Then I realized that ivory was a much softer, happier feeling.

I'm not sure if it matters in this case but we're using LED votives rather than real candles. We're having lots of kids and a few babies in arms and the idea of live flames seemed like a bad idea.
