Annoying registry issues

So some people who were invited to my Bridal Shower but couldn't make it sent their gifts to my house.

I registered at Macys & Bed Bath & Beyond, FYI.

So the other day I get a Macys package from a friend, she had bought us a griddle according to the packing slip. I wondered why the box was so light till I unwrapped the "griddle" and found a laundry bag in it's place! I didn't even REGISTER for the laundry bag. Ughh then I call Macys, and they act like it was not abnormal at all, like it was no big deal - which made me even more mad! Now, I'm waiting for the actual griddle to be sent out & I have to mail back the laundry bag - I really feel like I should atleast be able to keep the friggin laundry bag for the trouble - no?

Anyway, today I get a package from another friend from Bed Bath & Beyond. She got me 2 sets of glasses & 1 set of margarita glasses and a corkscrew - only - NO corkscrew! And they too acted like "ohhh it was missing, okay we'll send you another one!" Really? Does this happen on a daily basis?!?! Now, I've gotta wait for the damn corkscrew too.

Anyone else have problems like this?

And who thinks I should call Macys back & say I want to keep the laundry bag? LOL

That's crazy that it happened twice! We didn't have any gifts shipped, but we have the same registries so now I will check the slips if anything does come in!

I had a broken bowl a couple of months ago, which was really annoying. Luckily not registry related, though.

Supposedly the people who work in the shipping warehouses are pushed to go super fast, so it doesn't surprise me that mixups happen a lot. I imagine that there is somebody super annoyed that they got a griddle when what they *wanted* was a simple little laundry bag.

I haven't had that happen.. But I got 3 duplicate gifts (even though the registry clearly stated that they were already purchased, one a month before my 2nd shower). That frustrated me!!

I have had a lot of gifts shipped surprisingly with no issues but I did get tonnnns of duplicate gifts from Macy's I'm not sure if this is a registry error or if it was human error that the guests didn't mention the registry etc. which I think is unlikely be ause they would have had to go up to have it printed out (all the duplicates I got were from people that attended the shower and gave gifts in person so they probably went to the store personally) Also keep the laundry bag and don't even call back. We just got a wedding gift of sheets towels and a laundry bagand the bag on my registry was on sale for 4.00. So I don't think even if yours isn't the same, it's not a huge big ticket item,

I would call back and keep the laundry bag. I'm pretty stuborn like that and when they completely screw that up they should at least show some good customer service.
