Re: invitaion wording please proof!

  • I'm assuming the reception is at the same location?

    Anniversary wedding-1 my read shelf:
Heidi's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • I took out the "on" before Friday, added a "-" between twenty and sixth, and took out "at" before five.

Also, etiquette ladies will tell you that "request the honour of your presence" is only used for church weddings.  Not sure what you're having, but I don't really think it matters either way.  Use whatever you want for this.

Even if the reception were at the same place, you don't include it on the invitation. You just have a separate reception card with the info

Out of curiosity, why is it not okay to just print 'Reception to follow' on the invitations? That's what I usually see done if both are in the same place. And that's what I plan on doing, since my invitations did not come with reception cards.

i was wondering the same thing... why should i  have to buy another card to say the reception is in the same place?
  • Typically when I've seen "Together with their parents" the parents are listed then the bride and groom's names. We have some somewhat distant relatives who are invited that might not have seen us since we were five years old and having our parents names listed might help explain who we are, not just random people that invited them to a wedding!
  • I hope it's ok to state on the invites because that is what I was going to do too.

Actually, I think that's fine. I was really referring to a previous poster who asked if she was having the reception in the same place since she didn't put it on her invite. I was saying that even if the reception wasnt in the same place, you wouldn't put that on the invite, but on a separate reception card. If it's in the same place, I wouldn't bother with the reception card.
