How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty darn good!

Friday night we had gaming and I watched a couple movies on Netflix while I knitted. Couldn't even tell you what, so clearly they were not good but did not suck.

Saturday FI, my brother's GF, my mom, and I had dinner together. Afterward my mom and I went to my parents' house and left FI at home. We weren't terribly productive, I'm afraid. That being said, we did watch Gunless, which is one of the funniest movies I've seen in months. It's a comedy of straight men. I finished the blanket on my needles, but I had to stay up till 3 a.m. to get it done. I'm paying for that today...

Sunday my mom and I blocked 5 of the baby blankets I've made recently. I had 6 done but we could only get 5 on our boards. I'll have to go back later this month. I do have some pictures:

One of these photos has a yardstick in it for size comparison - all of these were blocked to 38"x38". I hadn't had a chance to "squish" the purple one around to line up all the rows of blocks before FI snapped it, and also sneak peek of wedding flowers in the background of the purple one for what it's worth.

We did 5 blankets in 6 hours, which is a pretty good clip. Also I watched some football when I could. I won my FF matchup!!!!! FI won his as well, so now no one in our league is winless. Woo for the Stitches and StitchesFI teams! And I'm leading the family football picks pool, so it was a decent weekend overall.

    @Keptinstitches -OOOO those look pretty! I need to learn how to knit/sew/crochet things.

    This weekend was amazing! We left at 3:00a.m. Friday morning to begin our drive to NOLA. We only had to stop a few times and it did downpour on our way there but we got into the city around 10:00a.m. So we couldn't check into our hotel until 3:00p.m. so we wondered around the city and explored Royal St. Bourbon St. and Jackson square. We got lunch at Royal House Oyster Bar which were awesome! Then we went and got Hand Grenades! Those were my favorite drink of the weekend! By this time we went over to the hotel and hung out at one of their bars for a bit to relax. Then we went out to Jackson Square and looked at all the pretty art. We then went to a brewery close by and had a beer. We were getting pretty drunk at this point lol. Afterwards, H convinced me to go into a casino since I've never been in one. He convinced me to play a game and I won $12 whole dollars lol.

    Afterwards we went back to the hotel to check in and get ready for dinner. We stayed at The Roosevelt which was an amazingly beautiful hotel. After we got ready we went and had more drinks and appetizers at a bar in the hotel. We had dinner at ANTOINES which was not very good IMO but H had a good steak. We then went out and partied on Bourbon St. with @cu97tiger and her friends! We had a blast and then walked home and crashed!

    The next morning we had breakfast and Cafe Du Monde! Best beingets ever! Then we went to a cemetery tour led by this lady who calls herself the VooDoo Bone Lady. She wasn't a big fan of mine since I didn't want to do anything she said about making wishes on Lady LaVeux's grave but whatever. Afterwards we got more drinks to include a Hurricane and more Hand Grenades...drunk again. We got lunch at the Gumbo Shoppe which was probably the best food by far that we had there. So yummy! We walked around Jackson Square again and watched all the musicians. Such a beautiful day.

    We got dinner at Richard Fiske's that night and the food was awesome but we waited like 2 hours for our dinner to come out. Afterwards we were pretty tired so we walked down Bourbon st. to see all the craziness one more time before we went home the next day.

    Sunday morning we met Macy and @cu97tiger for brunch at Ruby Slippers which was soooo yummy! Afterwards we got more beignets from Cafe Du Monde and then headed home. We got a flat tire on the way home so we didn't get home until around 10:00 last night but it was still an amazing trip!!! I definitely want to go back again.

    @Keptinstitches those blankets are beautiful!

    @southernpeach89 sounds like such a fun trip!

    Friday we made pizza and just relaxed, Saturday we went to the movies.  We saw Gone Girl and then went out to dinner. It was nice to have a date night since we usually stay in most weekends.

    On Sunday we went out ran errands and found some decor for the dinning room.  We got another estimate on flooring which wasn't too expensive.  I just want the floors done by Thanksgiving.  The rest of the day we relaxed and watched football.  It cold pretty cold yesterday, and last night.  That did not make me happy.

    Anniversary

    @Keptinstitches - love the blankets!

    We had a pretty great weekend. H and I went to see Gone Girl Saturday morning. Then we had one of my BFF's 30th birthday party that night. We played liar's dice and Guitar Hero...and ordered pizza. We also had these amazing mini bunt cakes for dessert. It was a fun night. Also found out one of my other girlfriends is preggers and expecting about a month after us. Fun times!

    Sunday we took my MIL up to the mountains to an awesome pizza place and to see the fall colors for her B-Day. Then we drove back home and everyone stayed to watch the Broncos kick some butt! Great game and a fun day.

    Hard being back at work today after such a great weekend. Apparently Thursday our team manager announced that we may have layoffs before year end. I'm not concerned about my job...but it's already changed the mood around the office this week.  :-(
