what kind of veil would go with my dress?

I want a cathedral length veil and I originally wanted a mantilla, but i wont go with this dress. so I was thinking about a morbid tulle veil but I kinda want it to have some detail, so help?

should I wait and see hat new things DB brings or should I go to a boutique and try to find something else.

Re: what kind of veil would go with my dress?

  • Why wouldn't a mantilla go with the dress? I think it would be quite stunning.

  • I think a mantilla would be pretty as well and I don't see why you couldn't go that way if you wanted to. It would coordinate with the embellishment on your dress fairly easily. The dress is simple enough for you to get away with a fairly elaborate veil without looking over-the-top, in my opinion.

  • I am with the PP.  A mantilla veil would go perfectly fine with your dress.  If that is what you want then that is what you should go with.

  • I want to add, that I also think a mantilla veil woul look just fne with that dress.  Why are you concerned it wont?
  • @cowgirl8238, @maggie0829, @Ndelible, and @amelisha  Thanks ladies you have made my day!! The reason I thought it wouldnt go well is because my grandmother said it wouldn't. I am not the most expert at these things so I just went with her input. Since the dress is satin and has some beading and since the mantillas usually are more lace she explained it would contrast too much. But I really would love to have some lace since my dress doesnt have much lace as I originally was looking for but fell in love with it, and I love it many times over the other dress I was opting for.

Nope, the contrast will be nice!

  • JaniV123  Sometimes we hear what others say about a fashion choice and it shuts us down.  When I was at my fitting, I asked about perhaps hemming the dress a little bit more, since I will be in Vegas and that dress gonna be dirty...  The seamstress and assistant gasped out, 'NO!" and I immediately shut down.  Later, she said they were just joking, but man, I sure didn't think so.  Sometimes, we just need a little reassurance.

I'm glad to hear you wont let one person's opinion sway you from something you loved...at least when it comes to dresses it is truly "Your Day" and you do get to decide what you want!
