Advice for same day check in for insuite reception?

Stressing a bit because the suite for my in suite reception is a bit pricey so we have to check in the same day right after our ceremony so my mother can set up while we do a strip photography session. Has anyone done this before? Did it work out ok? Any advice would be great :)

    What time is your strip tour?  The larger suites have been known to slip past the normal 4pm check-in time, so if it's too early and you were expecting to have access exactly at 4pm, that could be problematic.  I've heard of Vistas and the larger PH suites not becoming available until 5p to 6p sometimes.  It wouldn't hurt to contact a manager when you check into your normal room and let them know you're planning to switch to the big suite the following day (note not telling them you're having a party, just trying to reduce your locked out of a room time) and you wanted to see if there is anything you can do to get into the first available.

    I know this isn't helpful but I think you should just bite the bullet and book it the night before. I'm in the hotel industry and I can't tell you how often guests stay beyond check out time. In that case hotels have so much less time to turn the room for the next guest. It would be so stressful not having it locked down the night before. I think it would be worth it for piece of mind.

    The suite isn't avail for us the night before and the cake is set to be delivered at six :/

    I can't afford to check in the night before LOL We're in the same boat, check in time is 3pm and wedding is 5pm at another venue. Yikes! That's the only "stressful" part I'm worrying about. I'm praying it goes smoothly..

    I was having the same problem... and stressing a little... and because my mum is as much of an organisation freak as me... she just paid for the extra night! scored.

    If we hadbnt been able to check in on time... we would have possible had to cancel our pre-dinner drinks.

    I am really worried about this too. Masterpiece cuisine wants to be there by 3pm to set up at Cosmo. Reception will start at 6. I am hiring a DOC to be there at 2:30-3 as well.. Really banking on calling the night before and asking for early check in.. and then having someone be there at noon to request early check in.. yikes..

    Couldnt take the stress anymore. Canceled the Paris Ceremony and MGM Grand Suite. Booked Mandalay for everything and got the Vista Suite for both night before and day of wedding. Thanks for all your advice ladies :)
