You can have an e-approved wedding on a budget!

I just wanted to share my story about my friends wedding this past weekend.  It was a lovely outdoor park wedding and although the weather wasn't perfect (it was a bit chilly) the ceremony and reception were still lovely.  There were no gaps, the bride and groom thanked each guest for coming (both receiving line and table visits) everyone was provided snacks during the "cocktail" hour, a full meal, and dessert, along with non-alcholoic drinks.  There was even a DJ and some space for dancing too!

All of this was done on a "Shoe-String" budget (I believe it was around $3,000 total and there were about 65-75 people).  So you see, you can have a great wedding without going broke!!!!!

  • I love this. Too many brides use budget as an excuse for cash bars, honey funds, not properly hosting guests, etc. That's NOT a real excuse!

It can be done, as you've just proven. Small budget does not = acceptable rudeness!

  • Truth!

My cousin got married a few weeks ago in a similar fashion.  It was a lovely afternoon ceremony by a lake immediately followed by a reception with music, dancing, plenty of food, and non-alcoholic beverages.  I received my thank you less than three weeks later and was thrilled I went ;).

  • Oh yeah! I just went to one and it was absolutely beautiful. The couple got creative on ways to save money without sacrificing guests' comfort.
