How late can I ask someone to a BM???

So I am trying to still figure out how many people are going to be on both sides of our bridal party- my FI wants 5 and I would be happy with just an MOH so we are trying to compromise. One of the girls I am going to ask lives out of town and I would hate to ask her on the phone.. I may see her 7 months before the wedding - is that too late to ask ?? She already knows she is coming because she is family... any thoughts?

    I think that's fine! I asked people around 7 months... We got engaged in September and are getting married in May.  I think asking in person is nice!

    7 months is certainly fine. Often, BMs don't really get interested in or excited about being in a wedding until then.

    FWIW, I just asked my girls (we had 3 girls and 5 guys -- 2 of the guys were ushers and the other 3 were GMs) on the phone, even the OOT one.  :)

    FWIW?? how do i learn all this knot lingo??? I am picking up on some of it but I am totally lost on other abbriviations!

    I was just asked last week for a wedding in May. 7 months is fine.

    my best friend asked me to be in her wedding 3 days before their date! :) so anytime is fine. it's nice that you want to ask her in person, but if you can't you can't, it's not like she is going to be mad if you asked her over the phone. good luck choosing!
