H is on the way to the bank to turn in paperwork. And I get an email with responses regarding "TEH house" and also a response in there that another showing is at 6pm today. Um...*freakout*

I hate this feeling, KNOWING what you want, but not KNOWING that it's absolutely the right timing.

So FIL walked through the house with H while the sellers agent, our agent and the sellers were present.

H sat down our agent and FIL, made an offer that was only roughly 2% shy of the listing price (which was really, really good btw) and was told by seller's agent that there is another offer on the table.

Seller's agent verified that his clients were comfortable enough with the personal rapport between H and FIL that they would honor a verbal to go the listing price.

Boy oh boy. So for 2% we agreed, and to a mid-December closing. WHAT IS HAPPENING!?!?

I think we agreed to a house Y'ALL!

Closing date is 12/17, and I think that's perfectly fine with me. Not sure if we'll try to sell our home before we vacate, but really, there is no push to get it up before 1/1/15 because people don't care about homes at that time. Nope.

And also, Christmas at new home or current home? Time will tell.

This year can take a hike though---too many changes.

When we were debating listing in November we were told it's not necessarily bad. Only serious lookers are out at that time so you have fewer looky-loos.

If you can swing it to get your place on the market - do so - the whole thing with home buying is to connect the right seller with the right buyer which knows no time of year. The "pool" may be greater during certain times of the year, however you never know when a cash buyer is going to come along during the less busy time of the year...

Hmo--basement is unfinished. Which is a plus.

I think for us, the listing of our house is merely for convenience. With us working opposite hours, 2 large dogs, and we've outgrown our current home...we'll make some changes before closing I'm sure---but actually listing it? WE SHALL SEE.

If we do, I'll definitely point at H for that one, because no way. I don't want to.
