I’m looking for a DJ, and I have received quotes of between 1500 and 1700 USD, which I think is rather expensive.

We’re looking for a DJ for four hours, no uplighting, no flatscreens, no emcee-ing, no additions, no frill. Just music to dance to.

I know you pay for experience and quality, but it still seems like a lot to me. However, perhaps I just have to get used to it. Can you please share what you paid and which DJ (company) company you used? Thanks!

I am getting all the frills, but for what you want my DJ charges $1,800 to start and then adds everything else on. I am using Posh Entertainment. For everything I am getting (premium intelligent lighting, custom monogram, dancing on the clouds, live pianist for cocktail hour) I am paying $3,500...but I got the lighting for free due to a contest they were holding.
  • We used Colorblind and added on extras, but for just DJ & MC their rate was $1100. They were phenomenal.
  • We splurged on the music. $3500 for live music during ceremony and cocktail hour, then a team of two DJs for dinner and dancing. Lighting, frills, etc.

  • We used Ambient DJ's we had their biggest package and also did uplighting and a photobooth, I think about $3500 not sureI'm forgetting this stuff already.  They did have a basic package that was about $1000, they were great to work with.

  • Chuck Russo - no frills. about $1300-1400.
  • Thanks, Ladies, for the feedback.

We're going to look into your suggestions.

Mike Chieffo from DJMC was phenomenal! And he will work within your budget. Tell him Michelle referred you  ;)
