Inappropriate office Halloween costume?

Dear Prudence,
My wife has been at her new job for a few months and at the end of October her office is having a Halloween party. While we were out this past weekend, my wife found a cheap pair of novelty glasses. Her idea is to use these glasses to be Jim Jones for Halloween, complete with pitcher of Kool-Aid. My wife can have a pretty dark sense of humor. Is this costume idea too taboo for the workplace? If Jim Jones is a no-go, she’s noticing how the glasses also make her faintly resemble David Koresh. We welcome any suggestions.

    If someone here came dressed as Jim Jones, I don't know that I'd pick up on it.  Maybe the Kool-Aid would help, but I doubt it.  Times 12 for David Koresh, especially if she says there's only a faint resemblance. 

    Her best bet is either Slutty Jim Jones or Slutty David Koresh.  That's the trend, anyway.

    I would get it and laugh.  But in an office setting, I think it's best to go with something as mundane as possible.

    Also, I'd just like to say that adults getting hold of Halloween is the worst thing ever.  Someone posted a link to a "sexy Olaf" from Frozen.  What?  That's just weird and unnecessary.

    1) it was flavor-aid, not kool-aid, so nice try.
    2) this is disgusting. i look forward to mrs.conn holding down children and pouring the drink down their throats, which is what happened at the people's temple.

    No she literally did her makeup to look like Marilyn Monroe then did a tattooed swastika on her forehead and made it look like she had HELTER SKELTER tattooed on her body. Complete with slutty, white halter dress. It was weird.

    Something tells me she needs to go back to the drawing board and pick out a different costume - that people will actually "get"...  Save the mass murderer for their own Halloween party where others of like mind might be hanging out to "get it"..  If she'd been working there for 10 years then go for it, but new job, that one would give me the heebies, and besides, it's a chick, go as Madame  LeRoux or something - come on - represent!
