URGENT RESTAURANT HELP NEEDED.

Help! We are leaving for Vegas in 2 days... so need urgent help!

We had planned to have a "girls" dinner at Chayo in the Linq the night before the wedding. A sort of Bachelorette party... for 15 people. Anyhoo... they have finally got back to me and said we cant do anything other than a minimum $75++ per head for the booking.

Considering its just Mexican... I cant really ask people to spend that.

Does anyone know of anywhere nice that will take a booking for 15 people (1 under the drinking age guest) that doesn't require a minimum spend? Preferably close to the Flamingo as we are going to go on the High Roller prior to dinner.

I can only think of Battista's? Does anyone know if they will do it without minimum spend?

Or am I best to just try to make the booking when we arrive in Vegas on Sunday/Monday? (Dinner will be Tuesday?) Ide prefer not to waste time walking the streets searching for something.

Thanks a bunch!

Re: URGENT RESTAURANT HELP NEEDED.

  • Please do not go to Battista's.  I just went there this weekend and the food is disgusting.  I looked around and no one was eating their entrees.  One gentleman told the waiter, "This is not Italian food."  I really wanted to like the place too.  I don't know if the people that give it good reviews are drunk or what.  Even Buca di beppo has better food.

If you go to house hash a go go, I would share a plate with someone.  The portions are huge.

For prime rib, go to Ellis Island Casino and Brewery.  The prime rib was $13.99 and came with a 24oz beer.  We also had a great server.  I think, you may need to take a cab though.

    Good luck!
  • Try the Sugar Factory.  You can make a reservation for 15 people online- and it doesn't reference a minimum.  They have a location at the Paris.  I had my bachelorette lunch at the location at the Town Square- we had about 12 people with a reservation, and we did not have a minimum.
  • @missbruiser - thanks for the tip! Ill keep looking. The décor is a bit daggy for what I was looking for too. Ive heard house hash a go go is good. Ill have a look there.

@azwildcat - we are having our guests there for brunch the day after our wedding... so cant do that one!

What about Maggiano's - will they do a group? Anyone know?

  • We did a family dinner at Maggianos once - we ordered off a family style menu for around $40/pp. There were only 8 of us, but no minimum was given.

  • You could try Margaritaville, on Tuesday the wait shouldn't be too long and you can always hang out in the bar.

Check out Yardhouse as well, I know in Phx they don't charge mins, but not sure about Vegas.  They are super close to the High Roller.

The Mirage buffet is another option, the $35 includes beer and wine and on a Tuesday I would think they could fit 15 fairly easily.

missbruiser, please stay away from Battistas - even the wine is horrible and I'm all for cheap wine.  We tried it once, all I could stomach was the garlic bread and my husband couldn't even make it to the door without rushing to the bathroom.  Not sure how a place with food that bad can still be in business!

  • I was going to suggest Yardhouse and then I saw ktbabe already recommended it.  Second that for me.  Also, they just opened a brand new Tilted Kilt right there at the Linq as well.  We're looking at Hash House and I am almost certain they don't have a minimum because I wanted to bring 12 girls there and they said it wasn't a problem at all for us to just order off the menu and never mentioned any minimums.

  • wow... I thought it was supposed to be really good?!?!?!

Margaritaville wouldn't allow someone under the drinking age though, would they?

Im liking Maggianos.. but not the walk down there & back from the Flamingo.

Yardhouse looks good... Ill try them when I get to Vegas I think... seeing as they are in the Linq.

I may also just try walking into Chayo to make a booking and see if I get the same minimum spend response.

Thanks everyone for all your help!!!!

Another vote for Yardhouse! It's our go-to! Only problem is the linq location doesn't offer reservations, BUT I've been there twice with larger groups (once with 13 and once with 8) and we were seated both times within 30 minutes.
  • I would ask at Margaritaville, I think I've seen kids eating there.  Maybe as long as you aren't in the bar area with someone under 21.

If you are liking Maggianos, but not the walk, what about Carmines in the Caesars Forum Shops?  Its a really big place and the food is yummy!

  • I agree with ktbabe; Margaritaville is fun and although you won't be able to book the party of 15 in advance, you should be able to get on a list and get drinks from the bar, hang out, people watch, etc. until a table is ready. On a Tuesday I can't imagine it taking longer than an hour and hopefully less. This time of year, rooftop is good too.

  • Serendipity? I turned up with a group of 11, the minimum was only $250.
  • @spoon1984, how was the food at Serendipity?  I used to go to the one in New York when I lived there and I liked it.  I was thinking of taking a small group to the one in Vegas next week but the yelp reviews are pretty bad.  Would love to have a personal opinion of someone who has recently been there.

  • Margaritaville was incredibly reasonable when we requested minimums for our meet and greet. I second finding out more about Serendipity!

  • If you're wanting to stay with Mexican, what about Diablo's Cantina?
  • @dbacksgirl‌ it was actually July 2013 that I was last there. We all enjoyed it, we had mostly burgers and pastas. I was previously there in 2011 and it was exactly the same then. Good food plus nice to sit and watch the action on the strip.
