I can honestly say that it was a really beautiful wedding. Everything went off without a hitch.
My mom and I went to our hair appointments for 8:00 am so it was an early start to the day. After that we went to the hotel to get our makeup done. The MOG and her daughter was suppose to be there too, but they were about an hour late. Oops.
So they get there and the MOG told us all about how she was getting married the following weekend. Yes, I was having a Ww flashback to her MIL's announcement. She sent a mass text to everyone three days before my sister's wedding to inform them that she was getting married. I only know because my mom received it too. YES!
Anyway, the bride arrives from her appointment and she is walking on cloud nine, maybe cloud 10. She wanted everyone to get ready at the venue(bad idea) but this was her idea. Everyone starts getting ready in the bridal suite and it is chaos. Flying bras, missing veils(we found it later) and crying flower girl, but we made it.
There was one moment I had to step in. The bride was dressed and was about to put on her veil. The MOG was holding it and stepped up to help put it on. You should have seen how fast I turned to get me mom and yelled "Mom, she's getting ready to put on her veil." I knew if the MOG put it on, O-M-to the G that would not have been good. Mom helped and all was good with the world. We line up and it's show time. I was told that I had a Kool Aid smile on my face while walking down the aisle. I did have a slight need to start waving as I was walking because it was so great to see all the people I know, but I was good and didn't wave.
The bride walks out and got a loud gasp from the crowd, no lying. She walked down the aisle and it was a great moment. I was spending most of the time trying not to fall of the step I was standing on, but the ceremony was heartfelt and I sucked it up and didn't cry. Not once during the ceremony. Lots of dancing, drinking(thanks to mom's open bar, and fun was had by all. I had a blast. I worked the room and stopped at every table, and danced all night.
There were a few small things that happened but overall it was a great day and the bride and groom over so happy.
