So with the clock ticking down, and me being super bored at work, I've decided to start thinking about some ideas for the wedding. Our wedding will be at the Central Park Boathouse in NYC. One of the ideas I had was that instead of assigning each table a number, we could assign them a NYC neighborhood (Chelsea, Upper Westside, DUMBO, etc.) Instead of regular place cards, maybe we can put out Metro Cards with each persons name and table name. I googled some stuff and this is what I'm thinking of:
I was also thinking that we can use real Metro Cards. Each fare is $2.50 (I think) these days, but now you have to pay for the damn card if you are purchasing it for the first time. Each card is $1, and it would be something that people would be able to keep and use, if they wish. And Metro Cards are good for the subway and bus, which almost everyone in NY takes. It would be a practical place card!
What do you guys think? We would like to incorporate some personal touches in our wedding, and we both love New York and everything about this city, so I thought maybe this would be a nice way to incorporate some touches about the city we love. So is this a cool idea, or is it lame and cheesy? I'm just bouncing ideas all over the place right now, so any suggestions are welcome
