Mini Workout Discovery

I get bored easily. Usually I just wander around the bathroom while brushing my teeth. I look at things, wipe things down with my free hand, weigh myself, whatever. Last night I did squats. I did 50 squats while brushing and mouthwash rinsing. And I'm pretty excited that I'm feeling it today. I don't know why I never used this time before!

Do you do any mini workout things or workout multi-tasking that fits into your routine?

  • I also try to squeeze in some squats/calf raises while brushing my teeth. At work, our bathrooms have floor to ceiling doors, and are almost soundproof. I try to do some squats, calf raises, or wall push-ups every time I go to the bathroom at work.
  • I do calf raises like, all the time.  Washing dishes, loading laundry, when I pause at a stoplight while jogging.

    I don't know what it is about calf raises but they do way more for me than the calf machines at the gym.  

    I also like to do stuff like situps and calf raises while watching TV.

    FWIW - she has me do them, she just has never called them calf raises.

  • @southernbelle0915 That is terrific! I was talking about squats yesterday in @ClimbingBrideNY 's post. I do squats everyday around the house and I do about 60-100 abs/sit-ups every two days. Makes me feel like Hulk lol (mind you I weigh 80lbs soaking wet) and I also have a jumping rope. It's pink with sparkles. Hum but you know, it's great for a daily mini cardio. I haven't been to the gym in years and I found that since I started my work outs at home, I truly didn't need to be! Yay rock on Southern!

  • We have a long hallway in our house, so when I'm going around cleaning or putting stuff away I end up walking up and down the hallway about 50000 times, so I do walking lunges as I go just to make it double useful. Also love doing calf raises while I'm standing around doing dishes, my hair, whatever. There's a pilates move too that I like, and I do it while I'm watching tv; you lean back and lift your legs up in the air with your arms at your sides, so you're basically balancing on your tailbone. It's good for your whole core and especially abs.

  • That's a good idea! I just started doing lunges while I go from room to room.

    Googled. Was disappointed to discover that they are just relevés. Definitely not as interesting as what I was imagining.
