Will This Dress Work...?

I posted about my dress on a different board last month when I was having major dress regret. I guess I'm still not totally over it, because I want to get y'alls opinion. FI and I are getting married on a plantation in Charleston next October. Will this dress work? Honest opinions please. I've thought about making a lot of alterations...ending the lace at my natural waist, belting there and adding a couple layers of tulle, shortening the train... Honestly, I'm thinking maybe I should just sell this one and find a new one?

  • The dress is beautiful! But if your not happy with it, then you can always try to find another dress, but don't sell that one until you know you don't want to use it..

  • Wow, that dress is seriously gorgeous and looks amazing on you!! If you're not happy with it, then do what you feel in your heart is right. I absolutely love the waist part and the belt. The only alteration I can picture in my head is making the train a tad shorter, but that's only because I'm quite clumsy and would step all over it. For people that aren't clumsy like me, it would look amazing to see coming down the aisle. Personally, I think this dress is quite lovely, but you need to do what you think is right without regretting what you decide. :)

  • That dress is beautiful! Why would you want to change it? Who is the designer? Mine is very similar.. :)
  • Ok so here's the thing.  Your dress is beautiful!!!! And from what we can see, you look amazing in it.  So if you're worried about not looking good, then take that idea out of your head right now, lol.  But if you don't like it, or you were envisioning something different for yourself, then only you can decide if this is the one for you.  All the posts so far (in this thread and the other) say the dress is amazing...  FWIW, I say keep the dress as is, and maybe shorten the train if you prefer that.  but the lace is beautiful

It sounds like too many alterations. You're basically creating a new dress from it. I do think you should look for a new one.
  • Very pretty dress, but if you're having doubts, its not the one... kinda like a hubby :)
