At my shower on Saturday a girlfriend asked, "Oh birdy, how is honeymoon planning going? Are you still planning on going to that super fancy restaurant?"
"It's going great! And yes! We are so excited! Especially since they have dancing in between courses, it will definitely be very special!"
"Have you guys, like, paid for everything already?"
"Um...no? But...I mean....we have saved for it and made reservations?....We decided to travel somewhere cheaper so we could afford it. We haven't gone in debt for the wedding, so we didn't want to go in debt for the honeymoon, either..."
"You guys should, like, put the restaurant on a registry! People totally do that now days! Then people can pay for things you do on your honeymoon!"
...blank stare. NOPE.
Also, this was literally a conversation in front of EVERYONE at the shower. I wanted to just be like, "Well, people know they can always give money without us suggesting it/those sites skim off the top!" but that felt especially strange to say when I was at a shower full of gifts. I just bean dipped.
edited bc making sense is hard.
