Does anyone know of a Catholic priest in Atlanta who will officiate a ceremony outside of a church?  I'm having my reception at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead and we want to have the ceremony there as well so we can avoid transporting our guests back and forth.  I am having such a hard time finding a priest willing to do it.  I could really use a referral if anyone has one.

    Pretty much any Roman Catholic priest will not perform outside of the church. Sometimes they can get a special dispensation from the area's bishop but I think that's usually only for special circumstances. I know there are priests that are Catholic but not Roman Catholic who will perform an outside ceremony but your marriage won't be officially recognized by the Catholic Church. I'm sorry you aren't having a lot of luck. Our pastor was non-denominational and did a wonderful job and I'd wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone not requiring a Catholic ceremony.
