I never read your bio before till now.  I wore the same shoes & used Nancy as my TA as well.   We went to Couples Swept Away.  :)

ooodsie - That's too funny. I think I knew that actually. I vaguely remember reading your HM review and seeing that you had a somewhat negative experience with Couples. But I am crossing my fingers! How was your experience with Nancy?? She has done one or two things recently that have annoyed me so I am not sure I am 100% satisfied with using her so far. I hope name-dropping gets us some special treatment when we get down there and then I will feel better about our decision.

And I am pretty happy with my shoe purchase. They seem really comfortable and easy to walk in. I ended up sacrificing the idea of supersexy, fashion-forward wedding shoes for comfort (and FI's somewhat shorter stature.)

The main reason I used a travel agent was so they could recommend things I would not have thought of, and I wanted someone who knew the resort and area inside out.  It seemed Nancy had those qualities.  I actually found a lower price on my own, and had her match it - so using her for price wasn't my goal - just for information - which she was good for.   I found her a little overly energetic on the phone and in her emails, but eh whatever.. I did feel a tiny bit pushed towards Couples from her vs Sandals, so on our next AI I may try Sandals just for a comparison.

I will say that we had a bad experience w the resort on our first day - our room was next to a construction zone, and it was horribly loud and annoying.. I went to the front desk and asked to be moved and they said they had nothing except for an upgraded beach view room that we would have to pay extra for.  I totally asked for the manager (one of the people Nancy had specifically mentioned as a person to ask for in the email she sends you before the HM) - I said "Nancy Finn is my travel agent, and she said to ask for you if we had a problem" .. next thing I knew, we had the upgraded room for free.  So yes, I think name dropping helped!  And for that it made it worth while to have used her.  :)

Let me know your thoughts on Couples Tower Isle, that was my 2nd choice over CSA.. The only reason I didnt go for it was because DH wanted the nicest beach possible, and CSA has a bigger nicer beach.  TI however has more activities, which is more my style.   I will say their food was very good, the drinks were greast, the service was hit or miss (some people were SO nice, others not so much) and the rooms were okay.  But how much time do you really spend in the room anyway, ya know?

I will definitely let you know how it goes for comparison purposes. We chose CTI because of the extra activites they offered, because it has just had a big rennovation and because we thought the style of the place was pretty suited to our taste (in pictures at least). Thanks for the feedback!! I really do appreciate it!

Yes, those would have been my exact reasons for choosing CTI as well :)  Especially the horseback riding and zip lining for free .. Since I drug DH to Disney for a few days before Jamaica, I had to compromise and go with the better beach/less activity resort.  Oh well!
