Do i send out thankyous for gifts recieved at the engagemnet party? and what is a good host gift

Re: engagement party

  • Yes, always send out thanks you notes for gifts you receive.

As for the hostess gift, shop like it's their birthday. Something small with a heartfelt note is perfect.
  • Yes, you definitely need to send thank yous!
  • do I send thankyous for guests who attended and didn't send a gift? (like for attending?)

No, just for those who got you gifts.

  • We sent out thank you cards to everyone who attending (there was about 40 people, including any whom did not give gifts). We sent the TY cards out to everyone because we appreciated that they attended and shared the evening with us to celebrate, regardless of whether they brought a gift. I don't think it's required to send TY cards if no gift is given, but it never hurts and it's the thoughtful thing to do!
  • Good idea to shop like it's your birthday. My friend gave me a sonic toothbrush for hosting. You may think this is a terrible gift, but I wanted one!!!! And I'm hard to shop for.
