In-room Steaming/Pressing

Hi all!

Has anyone found or had experience with a company that will come and do in-suite steaming and pressing of dresses and suits?
We're getting married on a Saturday afternoon and not arriving in Vegas until Thursday evening.  Besides my dress, there are 5 bridesmaid dresses (chiffon) and 3 suits/tuxes that will need to be "groomed".  I'm sure we could attempt to iron the suits and dresses ourselves, but I'm certainly not good at it and I'm worried about working with chiffon.  I think it would be easiest if I could find someone to come to our suite at Aria and do them all.

Thanks for your thoughts!

  • Fit for a Bride offers this service I believe....haven't used them yet. My dress is en route to them now for my upcoming wedding

  • I am getting married in Vegas in June, and have been reading that you might be able to ask the hotel if housekeeping will do it. I haven't seen anything definitive though, so I would like to know also!
  • Someone just posted a very negative review on Fit for a Bride and due to what she went through I am leery of them.

That was me that was really disappointed with Fit For A Bride (to put it mildly).  Many people have had good experiences with them so I guess it's just a gamble.  The thing that really bothered me was that in addition to the absolutely inexcusable and horrendous customer service, when I wrote my review on Wedding Wire, Donna flat out LIED in the response.  You fucked up and you fucked up BADLY.  If you're on the up-and-up, own it and apologize.  Don't give some bullshit response and try to put the blame on the customer for YOUR mistake.

One other thing I noticed: they have a range for each package price.  I would be interested if ANYONE has ever paid the low-range price.  My guess is no.  I was initially quoted the high end of the range for a simple pressing.  My dress was already cleaned and pressed here in Phoenix.  When I shipped it to Vegas, it was still wrapped in tissue paper.  I asked why I was being charged more for such a simple press job on an uncomplicated dress and couldn't get an answer.  At the early stage, I just went with it and was like, "Oh, well. Still saves me worry and time."  WRONG!!!!!  And then they charged me even more than we agreed on.

I would suggest checking with your WC at Aria.  I got married at Venetian and they have a contracted vendor they work with.  In hindsight, I'd been much better off going that way.  Also, if you go through the hotel, if something goes wrong, there's a much better chance of getting a speedy and satisfactory solution because the vendor isn't going to want to risk losing a lot of business.

  • For me I took a leap of faith besides the bad review because they had so many good ones. Plus I needed to ship it in advance and the wc couldn't accept the dress. Fingers crossed for me the leap of faith will work out.

  • @Rosebubbly, I'm sure you will be fine.  I would just recommend that you literally dot every "i" and cross every "t" before you get to Vegas.  And then call again when you get there, but a day ahead, if possible, to verify everything is all set.  Verify the price, too, when you talk to someone there.  Then pray that Donna doesn't bug the hell out of you while you're trying to get ready.  :)

Good luck and enjoy the day!!!!
