Bridesmaid dresses

Hello! So I'm kind of in a frenzy about bridesmaid attire! All I know is that I want them to be floor length. I'd like it if they were all a bit different from each other (texture, style, or color) but I'd also like to find something nice and reasonably priced that isn't jersey material (if that's not possible I'm not going to have a fit about it). My colors are a deep autumn palette, ochre/rust/cranberry/olive green etc. Anything will help at this point–thanks in advance

Have you asked your BMs privately for their budgets? That's where you need to start.

If you're ok with different style/texture/color, I would give your girls a sample picture of the color palette you're going for and just tell them to purchase a long dress that fits the color scheme!  I think that would be easiest for you AND for them because they can pick the color and style of dress that they feel the best in as long as it's floor-length.

ETA: I'm picturing you ending up with something like this....(which is gorgeous btw)
autumn, fall, bridesmaid dresses, camp lucy, texas, wedding,
This. Just tell them exactly what you said here, show them what color(s) you like and let them choose. One less thing for you to worry about.

  • As others have said, just give them a "dress code" and let them go at it. This is actually traditional for men in a bridal party, who would just be told to show up in morning dress or x-tie and all have a reasonable level of matching because there are only so many variants of grey morning coat with formal pattern pants and neutral vest.
I'm pretty sure the idea of matching bridesmaids comes from the old custom of dressing like the bride to confuse unwanted superatural forces, which then turned into the white bridal party so common in old photos. After that, people decided to start replacing the white with other colors, but the substitution remains planned and singular.
