Invite/STD/ combo pack

Hello everyone! I am looking to find a set that all matches but am having a hard time to find them, I think I am using the wrong terminology. If anyone knows a website that has set's that all match from the STD to thank you notes that would be lovely if you shared :) Thanks in advance!

Re: Invite/STD/ combo pack

  • Nobody cares if they match except you.  STDs are very new, and rather informal, so why would they match a formal invitation?  As for the thank you notes, by the time your guests receive them, they will have forgotten what your invitation looks like.  Save your money and your stress.  Just get what pleases you.

  • Thank you for you're insight!

  • I think it's called a "suite" or something like that. Clearly I did not do it because I do not know what it's called.

Our save the dates had our pictures on them, and didn't look like our invites at all. Our thank you notes kind of matched our invites. We ordered them at the same time and we wanted them to look..similar. If you want special thank you cards (you don't need them but I get wanting them, I wanted them) make sure to order them well in advance. We used different thank you cards for the wedding then we did the shower because we hadn't picked out our thank you cards we'd use for the wedding. For the shower we just used a pack we had bought...I think at a thrift store or a rummage sale...something like that.
  • Wedding Papers Divas probably has the largest amount of designs that have matching options for everything from the STD to the Thank You Notes. But most of the invitation companies, David's Bridal, Magnet Street, etc. have at least a few complete design suites.
  • Oh very cool I did not even think to look there for thank you cards for a bridal shower! Thats super neat and budget friendly! Yeah I am wanting a picture on the save the date as well. I am not really big on matching them all but was wanting to see them and see if its cheaper to order it all as a pack or suite as you will. I am taking it, that it's cheaper to piece it all together then?

  • I think WPD offers some discount for ordering various pieces together, but it's very minor. I don't think you'll save any money doing a matching suite, it's more about the aesthetics. I like everything matching so all of my pieces (probably minus the thank you cards) will match in terms of motif, font, and color, but I'm also using my own design, since I didn't find any pre-designed templates that fit with what I wanted perfectly.
  • You might check out Vistaprint.com.  They have reasonable quality for low prices.  Sign up on their website for sale notices if you like what you see.  They often have sales.  There are also groupons available for them.  The ononly thing I disliked was the quality of their free envelopes.  I would buy plain ones in an office supply store of better quality.

    That...I don't know.

We had a friend who wanted to start her own save the date/invite printing company and offered to do our save the dates for free, if she could use them in her book. They turned out great. Though her whole business thing ended up being a no-go for her.

Michaels has DIY kits and of course always has coupons if you want to go that route. I considered then got really lazy.
  • I got DIY invites and thank you notes that matched pretty closely at Michaels. I also got DIY save the dates at Michaels on Clearance for $5 per 20. Those matched nothing, but for $5 who cares?
  • yeah I found a really cute STD that I adore from Vista Print :) It seems cheap and I found the groupon for it! wow what a killer deal!!! Thanks for that tip!

  • I think you can order a sample kit from Vistaprint that shows you the different types of paper available.  My daughter used them for her invitations.  I hated the cheap envelopes, but the invitations and postcards were very nice!  You can always buy heavier weight envelopes.

  • yeah thanks for the heads up on the envelopes :) we can get those from any office store I am sure! I will look into a sample kit too!

  • Our STD do not match our invitations. STDs are done postcard style with our picture on the front and gray lettering on the back. The bottom says "formal invitations to follow."

With that said, I have seen many design suites that include STD, invite, RSVP, and info cards all in one on Etsy. I was recently invited to a wedding where they used Etsy for their invites and they were beautiful. They were very high quality and cost about the same as anywhere else. I also know that if you find a design of invite you like on Etsy and they don't already have a matching STD, you can email the seller and ask about making one. They will usually do this for a small cost and then you don't have to settle for one you liked less.

  • As soon as I hit send, I received an email from davids bridal with a 50% off coupon for save the dates! I'm not sure how much theirs are because I have already ordered mine elsewhere, but I do know they have matching STD and invites too. The code is SAVE50 in case anyone is interested. The coupon is good until Dec. 31, 2014 :)
