Northern Area---Monterey Bay area

Hello, I am in need of help with the best spots to look at to have my Beach wedding at in Monterey Bay or near there. I live in New York so I can't go check any places out. I have searched all over internet. Not sure where I should turn. I am looking for a ceremony site and possible cocktail hour after for an hour or so after. Nothing 2 expensive...just looking for something affordable and low key. If anyone can help please!! Thank you!

Re: Northern Area---Monterey Bay area

  • Check out the Monterey Plaza Hotel. The ceremony wouldn't be on the beach but it would literally be looking at the ocean. You could take pictures on the beach. It is reasonably priced and is BEAUTIFUL! It was our second choice for a wedding venue. Good luck!! If

One of my friends got married at Lover's Point and then had the reception at Tarpy's.

this site has a bunch of options:

  • Thank you!!
  • HI, Im actually having my wedding at the monterey plaza hotel also and it is beautiful but a little on the pricier side with a minimum of 75 people and I dont know if you could do just ceremony and cocktail hour since the packages that I was present all included reception.

For the most affordable option there are lots of public beach locations that you can get a permit to have a beach wedding and then several restaruants have options for hosting receptions and cocktail hours.

I spent a long time looking at all the venues in Monterey because I wanted a beach side wedding and since its a prime local wedding spot and also internation destination wedding location it really drives the prices up for the "Wedding" geared options.

  • There's a place right on the beach in Monterey called Monterey Beach Party
Also, Best Western Monterey Beach Resort has everything in one spot. Those are the least expensive options. Monterey Plaza, The Intercontinental Clement are lovely and more pricey but wonderful locations.
You can do a beach ceremony in Carmel at a number of different spots or Asilomar in Pacific Grove then move your reception to one of the area's many reception venues.
Check out mbwep.com for a list of pre-qualified and trusted vendors. There are a few catering sites that list venues as well like Classic (Gatherings & Perry House) or Grapes of Wrath both have lists on their sites. Lots of restaurants will accommodate a small group. You can pm me as well.
