Thoughts on a Linen Suit

FI and I will be getting married at the beach.  He has a Linen Suit that fits him well, and would be perfect for the wedding, but I just worry about it wrinkling through travel and such. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the suit from wrinkling or is it just a lost cause?

    I am personally not a fan of linen suits, shirts, pants, what have you.  Even after you press it when you get to your destination it takes like 0.2 seconds for it to get all wrinkled again once it is on.

    But really it is up to you and how much you care about his suit being really wrinkly.

    I personally think that he should just buy another suit, because I'm like you, I don't like linen stuff simply because it wrinkles.

    But....

    He feels comfortable in it and really likes it.

    Then I would let him wear it.  Just tell him that when he puts it on he is not allowed to sit or move around a lot until the start of the ceremony LOL!

    If he loves it so much, I'd let him wear it too. And starch the everliving bajeesus out of the pants (especially the front pleat/placket area), and take all your pictures before he sits down even once.

    Are you aware of a magic product called Downey Wrinkle Release? (Buy it in the laundry aisle). They make mini travel bottles of it, which I bought at the drugstore in the section with all the mini travel stuff. You spritz it on the fabric, then tug on the fabric, and the wrinkles come out. This stuff is always in my suitcase. 

    You can have a bottle on hand (ask someone to keep it in their purse or something) during the wedding and if things get too messy -- AKA wrinkled-- step off to the side, spritz some on his suit, and just do a quick fix to get some of the wrinkles out. BUT he can't sit back down till it dries, if you wrinkle the fabric back up while it's still damp, it can make the wrinkles worse cuz they'll set in that way. Let the fabric dry smoothed out. 

    I also agree with lolo, starch it like there's no tomorrow!

    That will be perfect!  Great idea. I have heard of the wrinkle release I just wasn't sure how well it would work on linen.

    Some fabrics you have to spray a little extra, but I've never come across a fabric that it didn't work on. I've even used it on denim and on fall coats!

    Our photographer will only be with us probably the first 30 minutes of our reception, since it's such a small wedding, so I think after he leaves I will let him waller all he wants. :)

    I've been sitting here thinking about my mom or his mom following him around with a travel bottle of downy wrinkle releaser the entire wedding day hahaha
