Talk to me about melty fragrance thingies

My mom bought me this sweet "fragrance warmer" (a candle warmer) thing since I can't burn candles in my office, and I LOVE IT. She also bought me some cinnamon-scented wax things to melt in it, and I'm already obsessed so I need to know where to get more of these things. Do any of you guys use these? I think it's similar to the Scentsy concept, but I've never bought Scentsy so I'm not 100% sure. I welcome all suggestions!!

Also, I just saw that I'm on the leaderboard thing for posting so far this week, and I got way more excited about that than necessary. FI made fun of me.

They sell knock-off ones at big box stores, and I think Yankee Candle has a line of them at BB&B.

Yea these are pretty much everywhere. Target, Kohl's, Walmart, Bath & Body Works. It really just depends on what scents you want. I just ordered some from Scentsy from a lady at the office. There were so many scents to choose from.

Thanks ladies! I looked at Bath and Body Works site briefly today and didn't see where they had any, but I'll check out Target and Walmart too.

I have a plug-in Scentsy warmer for my bathroom and it's pretty alright. I'm not sure if the scent fades really quickly or if I just become acclimated to it and don't smell it as strongly, but I can really only smell it for a few days.

I love these. I have noticed that the one I have from Walmart doesn't heat the wax very well, like the wax only melts in the center and doesn't melt throughout to the sides. I love my Scentsy ones though! Live by the suckers! I agree that the scents don't last forever though- i cut my wax up and only put small amounts in the warmer each time so that I can add more more frequently to keep the scent up but also not run out super fast.

So the pack my mom gave me had 6 'cubes' in it, and I put all of them in the warmer. How long with that last? Does the wax eventually evaporate? How will I know when to put new stuff in there?

@theycallmelinz the wax will last a while- but the scent will go away. I don't think I've ever put more than two cubes in at a time lol, so you'll have to keep us updated on that. In my experience the wax itself will last a long time. The nightlight one I have in my bathroom has had the same wax for about 3 months-but not any scent left in it….I just haven't changed it recently.

Once mine lose their scents I usually keep them warm and liquified and try to *carefully* get the lid to a trashcan and dump it, then wipe it out, and put new wax in. It's hard to get the solidified wax out and is messy.

The wax shouldn't evaporate, just the scent lessen over time. You can pour it out back into the cube tray it came in if you want to change scents before then.

I don't think all 6 should go in at once. :-p

I'm just going to mention that the Yankee Candle wax tarts do not seem to melt very well in my warmers.

Scentsy is good. I also use Woodwick and it seems to melt nice.

That's interesting that you ladies say the scent goes away. It looks to me like the wax goes down over time. Also, I had the same single cube in the warmer for about five months, and the scent never decreased. I averaged turning it on for a couple hours a couple times a week.

I have a warmer and purchased a ton of scents from Scentsy when a girl in my office had a party.
I also found some nice ones at Walmart, I think the brand was Better Homes and Garden.

Does it have a removable bowl the wax sits in?
After I've melted some and I'm tired of the scent I stick it in the freezer while it's still liquified and then come back to it the next day. Pops right out and there's no wax mess left all over.

I have a love/hate relationship with waxes. I hate how they lose the scent over time without evaporating. (Yes, I realize this is also a sign of laziness.)

I prefer oils.

That's probably the difference -- I leave mine on almost all the time.

I think each Scentsy cube is supposed to have about 8 hours of scent, if I'm remembering correctly.

I would only have mine on for a few hours a week in my office, but if/when I have one at home I'm sure it'll be on all the time. Mine does have the removable lid thing for the wax so that's a really good idea about putting it in the freezer to get the wax out!
