So earlier today, I received the phone call officially offering me the position at the company I have been interviewing with. It is an amazing opportunity for me and a huge step up in pay so I can actually afford to go back to college for my masters.
When the manager who makes the final decision called me last night he told me something very flattering. Apparently the position I originally interviewed for was not approved. Only the environmental process engineering position. I was originally interviewed for the manufacturing process position because I had more experience but they liked me so much and when he found out the other position wasn't approved by the higher ups they decided they still wanted me and offered me this position. They said that they will pay for all the certifications and training because although I don't have any of that, he sees I have a lot of potential and would be a benefit to the company. He also said that it would be a great career move, whether at this company or if I decided to go somewhere else in two years.
I will be calling this afternoon to confirm that I will accept the position. Ladies, you are looking at a new Environmental Process Engineer!
I shall now go and do my happy dance. :-D
