Wedding Woes

Morning

The surprise party for my sister was a success.  She really had no idea and her reaction was priceless.  :D

The kiddo's bday is today.  He's 14 going on 4...I swear.  He's forgotten his ID/lunch pass the last 2 school days and I can't bring it to him because our schedules don't sync up (he eats lunch super early).  IDK why he can't remember his stuff and/or why they can't take his student ID number to charge his lunch account. I'm going to staple that thing to him.

We set up our tree yesterday.  DH hates it because it's small.  It worked fine in our last (smaller) house.  He wants to go buy a real tree, and do everything over.  He didn't help set up anything yesterday except for puting garland on the tree (he actually disappeared for a half hour or so while we were decorating to put in some throne time).  So he can knock himself out.

I'm glad the party marathon is over.  I'm over cleaning like a crazy person and then having a a huge mess to clean up afterward.  People did bring us alcohol, so we actually ended up with more than we started with.

I need someone to come clean my dirty-ass kitchen and put it back together. Any takers?

Re: Morning

  • And OMG, I hate auto-play on FB. I'm scrolling through and all of sudden there's a video of a lady giving birth in the front seat of a car into her pants.  It's one of my nurse friends who's not a stranger to posting medical stuff on FB, but I haven't had enough coffee for a pants-baby.
  • Good weekend here.  Tried to see Santa twice Saturday.  6let had fun, M2 would get close enough to be in a picture but not talk to him. Max was having none of it.

Saturday night was OSU football.  Sunday was church and laundry and Costco.

This is my party week- tomorrow 6let's recital and all the grands here.  Friday night Bunco. Sunday Max's party.

  • @Conn - if you go to FB settings and then video, you'll be able to turn off the auto-play.

Weekend was OK here.  Got some Christmas shopping done on Saturday.  Only a few more things to go.

Yesterday, DH wasn't feeling good.  He woke up with a headache and a cough.  He was feeling off all day.  Then last night he mentions that he hasn't been taking his evening meds because of his work schedule.  DING, DING!  Dude, that would explain why you've been a jerk and not feeling well.  He's been SO short tempered and moody and I started questioning that maybe it was me.  The meds he takes are for restless legs and migraines but they also make his mood so much better so he needs to get back on them.

  • We managed some fun time in between stuffs to do.  Sometimes, I think my mission 2 years ago to "get us social and some friends" was a bit too successful.  But I love all the new people in our lives, so I just try to keep it all manageable.

Friends b-day party on Friday night.  Saturday night we went to a concert and handed out flyers for the organization that I'm volunteering for to keep sexual orientation and gender identification as protected classes in our city's discrimination policy.  Sunday we cleaned, and cleaned...and cleaned some more.  OMG, apparently my house was filthy and I just didn't realize it.  But it's clean now.  I sure do love my animals, but dang, they drop a lot of fur.
  • I'm also annoyed at Target.  I ordered black Friday gift cards and now the expected delivery is 12/19!!  a) I need them by the 16th b) they're GIFT CARDS.  How hard can it possibly be to ship them?
  • Our weekend was great. It was raining all day on Saturday so Sesame Place was empty. PF got some serious quality time with Elmo and the look on her face was worth being soaked all day. And the picture was so cute we forked out a fortune for the one they took, because OMG.

We spent the weekend in PA with friends. It was a lot of fun. Very little sleep but so worth it.
  • My kid was wide awake at 4:30 this morning.  WTF.  The short days are messing with him:  he used to be really good about going back to sleep if he woke up and it was dark out, but now it's still dark out when it's time to get up.  So now he wakes in the dark and has no idea if he's supposed to get up or not.  This morning he decided to go for it, I guess.
  • Morning. This weekend was good. Friday night we had dinner at SIL's house to see my IL's before they left. Saturday we ended up going to a Christmas party at DH's work. We ended up getting there later than we had anticipated and it was packed. Lots of waiting for things and of course, our kids were having none of that. Later on we did family/DD's 1 yr pics. I can't wait to see them- our photographer showed us a few on her camera (unedited) and they were great. Sunday was lazy day.

  • Weekend was gone in a whirlwind of house crap.  I spent about 8 hours scraping wallpaper and cleaning the walls.  And also another 2.5-3 hours painting.  More on the docket for this week.  H is OOT town until Wednesday and I have a list to complete for my own peace of mind.  Then he can never claim that he's done it "all by himself".  I don't want to hear any of that noise...nope.  I'll shut him right up with all of this painting, priming and wallpaper removal.  YEP.

  • YAY PF!!! That's awesome @DixieNormous330!
