Bridemaid Dresses

Hey ladies! I am getting married on 08.01.2015 and I am trying to find bridesmaid dresses in a color that I love but I definitely don't want to do to David's Bridal. I have been enough bridesmaids to know that they aren't the best. Can anyone help? I need it to be beautiful and a national chain.

Re: Bridemaid Dresses

  • Macy's, Nordstrom and Target all have bridesmaid lines.

"Beautiful" is subjective. What kind of dresses are you looking for? Have you gotten budgets from each of your bridesmaids yet?

We originally ordered ours from Forever 21. It ended up not working out but they have a large, inexpensive selection. Other places I've looked: LuLu's, The Lilly Boutique, Etsy, ModCloth, JC Penny, Dillard's, Macy's, Nordstrom, Sears.
  • What are your BMs budgets?  What kind of dress are you looking for?  What color?

  • So you already ordered dresses? Were your BMs able to get there money back?

What was the lowest budget, when you asked your BMs?

What is wrong with David's bridal? The reason so many people pick DB is because it has a huge selection and frequent sales. Lets face it, your BMs probably arent going to wear the dresses 100 times, so I wouldnt be overly concerned about quality

  • Don't get bridesmaid dresses.  Get nice dresses.  Little black dress from Banana Republic.  Cocktail dress from Nordstrom.  Sheath dress from Ann Taylor.  You get the idea.  No one wants to wear a crappy satin ballgown again.  Your bridesmaids will thank you.

Yes, mine wore cocktail dresses from JC Penney's. They are a little on the formal side since they are satin, but the cut and style is very modern so they could easily wear them again.
  • Don't rule out any stores. Granted DB isn't as fancy as say Alfred Angelo, but their prices can sometimes be more budget friendly.
