Welcome bags for OOT guests

If you did them...what did you put in them?  Anything to promote the local area?
If you're planning on them, what are your ideas?

I was going to have a Welcome letter, map to the venue, reminder of our day after BBQ with a map to our place, a current Toledo City Paper so they have a list of things to do over the weekend.

I'm going to check with the zoo and see if they have snacks, like animal crackers, or something with their logo on it to add as well.  Still debating on the whole bottled water thing.  Everyone says it's a good idea...but it's water. You're at a hotel.  Go to the faucet and get a drink if your that thirsty.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

We didn't do them, but I've received them before and some things I thought were great were little 'sample' packs of tylenol and alka-seltzer, bottled water (yes, we appreciated it!), and a couple locally-made munchies.  You mentioned the animal crackers, but you could also consider something from Tony Packo's line of products, or maybe even some Buckeyes?  I know we're not Columbus, but we're still the Buckeye State!

I have also heard before that dotoledo.org has information brochures/packets that you can request to put in OOT bags.

I like the Buckeye and Tony Packo idea, and LOL about the water!

We are doing them and putting something from Tony Packo's in, some Garden Expressions salad dressing and some of the locally made salsa too (stadium salsa I think it is??).  And then bottled water, tylenol, alka selter, a City Paper and Free Press.  That's all I have so far though, still looking for ideas!

Ooohhh...I like the buckeye idea.  And I forgot to add that I was planning on some Tony Packo's Hot Dog sauce. Thanks ladies!

We will have a lot of OOT guests at our wedding too. Will you be doing guest bags for each room (one bag) or person per room (two bags).

We've been to a lot of weddings OOT lately and have gotten some nice OOT bags. They usually include some type of local "magazine" or paper, a welcome note from the B&G with some places to check out (shops, restaurants, areas of interest), water and/or beer, snacks etc.

Has anyone ever gotten anything interesting/memorable that would be a good idea to include in an OOT bag?

I was planning on just doing one per room.  Most of our guests are just coming as couples, no large families or anything.

Do you just take them to the hotels and ask them to place them in the rooms??

i don't know how much it would cost, but if you want to keep to the toledo theme....why not a small token from the mud hens gift shop?  magnet, keychain, etc.

I like this idea!  I am a souveneir addict on vacation, but I only like souveneirs of places that I've actually been.  If I were going to NYC, I wouldn't want an Empire State Building keychain unless I actually went to the Empire State Building.  I would instead go with a Toledo Zoo souveneir as all of your guests will be enjoying part or all of the zoo!

Where are you getting your bags?? Any ideas of affordable places for nice bags? Any where online?

I bought my bags at hobby lobby and micheals with the one item 40% offs. I think they were 5.99 for 12 and then 40/50% off with the coupons. A recent wedding we were at had a cute poem that went with a lot of the items. I can't remember exactly how it went... I remember it ended with hugs and kisses and there were hersheys kisses and dove hugs in the bag. Things I love to see in the bags - tylenol/advil, water, some sort of chocolate, mints or gum, perhaps a munchy item like a little bag of pretzels, we also got a mini sewing kit that looks like a book of matches, that came in handy later on.
