Just engaged this month, having difficulty choosing a date

Choosing a date is so hard! I know I want to wait until 2016. I've always wanted to get married in Sept or May or on the 10th, 25th or 21st. Those numbers are significant to me. A date open at the venue I want is Sept but my sister just got married there this year and I am afraid people will think I am "copying " off of her. There is so much stress and I have only been engaged for one month!

    Take a deep breath, stop stressing! You have so much time to plan (and enjoy!), so take a step back.

     

    Your sister got married 2014. You are getting married 2016. How many other weddings are people going to go to inbetween? They probably won't care/remember/compare you to her. If you like the venue then go for it! If you are worried about your sister, maybe talk to her and talk about how much you loved the venue and how a date opened up that you were interested in.

     

    I think it would be fine either way though :)

    Wow that is very specific.  HOnestly I would recommend deciding on a season and then looking for venues and seeing what's available.  To be so set on a number that's really insignificant in the long run (because your wedding date will be significant no matter the number because it's the day you're getting married) is going to severely limit you and make this very stressful.

    And my best friend got married at the same venue as both of her sisters.  And where I had my bat mitzvah.  And where we had our prom.  It's not a big deal.

    You are def stresses way too much over it.  I wouldn't pick a venue based on date, or not pick a venue because your sister got married there!  Check out some venues and decide what would suit you best, in terms of size, food, price, location, etc.

    Thanks ladies!! Both of our parents were married on the 25th so we thought about that to keep tradition, just a little touch! :) I'm meeting with some vendors right after the holidays!
