- DS has been sick with RSV since Monday. He is not sleeping well, and we are exhausted. Got a breathing treatment at the pedi yesterday, which he screamed through most of. Now we have an inhaler at home, which he also hates, but at least it's puff, puff, done, not 15 minutes of red-faced screaming.
- I am sick--just a cold (or maybe a grown-up case of RSV, since I've been sneezed and coughed on approximately 4000 times this week), but I have basically no voice and a cough that frightens people away.
- DH has a sinus infection. And let me just say, it was a result of his cold, but when I was mocking his man-flu, it was not yet a sinus infection, it was still just a cold at that point. And then of course when he started to get sicker, as soon as I started telling him to go to the doctor, it was all "No, no, I'll be fine," etc. So cold = deathbed, actual bacterial infection = NBD, I guess?
- So, everyone is sick except DD. Who was an angel yesterday: when I picked her up from the bus stop yesterday and said we had to go straight to the pedi, she didn't complain; when DS screamed during his breathing treatment, the only thing that (temporarily) calmed him down was when she sang to him (this works in the car, too). Then after dinner she totally lost her shit over some Fancy Nancy book, I sent her to bed, and she told me she wished she had a different mommy. And damn it, I guess because I'm sick and exhausted, but even though I knew better, I still burst into tears afterward.
- My mom is coming for Christmas and because of everything going on this week, I haven't given more than 30 seconds of thought to a menu or anything. I hope she likes pizza...
On the plus side, now that DH is feeling better and I'm worse, he is shouldering a lot more. When the dishwasher stopped actually getting the dishes clean, he called the home warranty people and got the whole repair call set up; we've started a staggered work schedule (I go in earlier, he goes in later; he drops off, I pick up), so he stayed to meet the back-up babysitter, he's going into the office this a.m., we're both going to DD's class party, and then he's taking her home afterward and wrangling the kids so I can actually get a full day of work in this week. Even though I mostly just want to lay my head on my desk.
Also on the plus side, we're about due for an upswing, right?
