Day After Brunch

My fiancee and I were originally planning to invite our guests to join us for the Sunday Jazz Brunch aboard the Steamboat Natchez the day after our wedding. Unfortunately I just realized that the boat will be in for repairs on our wedding day. Any suggestions on where we could have brunch instead? Most of our guests will be staying at the JW Marriott or elsewhere on Canal. We do not want to pay for brunch for everyone. (Is this tacky? I've heard various opinions.)

I liked the Natchez idea because I could direct guests to their website to buy tickets so there would be no confusion over who was paying. I also thought our OOT guests (the majority) would appreciate the experience.

TIA!

Re: Day After Brunch

  • Hi Tia, here are some brunch spots that I have had great experiences with. If you do not wish to pay for your guests' brunch then I would not send out formal invitations. Or if you do wand to send out invitations maybe include the menu as well so your guests have a better understanding.
Cafe Adelaide in the Lowes Hotel.
    Tableau in the French Quarter.
    Cafe Amelie on Royal Street.
    The Court of Two Sisters

    Hope this helps!

  • court of two sisters is amazing!  I think that's where I'm gonna have mine in April
  • We are doing a rehearsal brunch at Cafe Soule (spelling?) it's a bit small but they have a private room upstairs.  We were also thinking just inviting our guests for some beignets and coffee at Cafe Du Monde for a quick little stop before they travel out.
