Wedding Venue: Dublin Community Church A+Pastor Lisa was awesome. She really took the time to get to know us and to ensure our wedding went just the way we wanted. Susie, our wedding coordinator, was so patient and efficient. During the rehearsal, they both made sure we knew exactly what to do on the wedding day and everything ran smoothly. The church was also beautiful, the location was amazing, and they have the perfect set up for the guys and gals to be separate!
Reception Venue: Worthington Hills Community Church A+Rian was amazing. She was also so fast to respond to my e-mails, million and a half questions, and special requests. The cheese tray was missing my favorite cheese so they added it, no cost. My favorite wine wasn't in the wine list, so they added it, no cost. My favorite beers are IPAs so they made sure that was available at the bar. They also had mimosas at the bar so they just let me drink straight champagne and provided a free champagne toast to the wedding party. The venue is simply gorgeous. People raved about my outdoor cocktail hour. There is a ton of seating, a huge fire pit that 10+ people can sit around, and great views. The staff made sure the guests had plenty to eat and drink during the entire hour. They had a hard time getting people to come inside because the guests loved it! The reception room was decorated PERFECTLY. Everything was exactly as I imagined. The room is huge so all the guests had plenty of room to eat and sit around the tables. There was plenty of room to walk around and get everywhere. There isn't a bad seat in the house! Guests raved about the food, the bar service, and the efficiency and flow of the entire night.
Photographer: Our Dream Photos by James DeCamp A+I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Our engagement photos were rained out three times and he was so flexible with all the last minute cancellations and changes. We finally were able to get them done and they turned out amazing. He was fun to work with, really wanted to take the time to get to know us, and really knows what he's doing. He also came to our rehearsal dinner and took pictures and got to know everyone, which was not part of our contract. He just wanted to know who the important people were before the big day. His daughter joined him on our wedding day and they were both wonderful. His daughter even volunteered to take my dress/veil to the church as we ran out of room in the car! They are a wonderful team. You get picture quality of someone who charges $4k - $5k for half the price.
Photo Booth: Social Confetti A+We opted for the open booth and I'm so glad we did! Their pricing was lower than a lot of competitors so I was a little worried, but they really exceeded my expectations. Two attendants were present and set up early. The booth was up and running for a solid 4 hours. The back drop was custom and so cute. My custom logo on the photo strip fit my wedding theme and colors perfectly. The album the attendants made was amazing. It was unlimited, including the strips. I had 15 people in one photo and all 15 people got their own strip. The quality was amazing, the props were great, and the attendants were really fun to work with. I would highly recommend them!
Cake: Our CupCakery A+I cannot complain. The cake was AMAZING. It was there in plenty of time and looked beautiful - exactly as I imagined and we had discussed. We had a variety of flavors including yellow cake with fresh strawberries and chocolate ganache, funfetti, oreo cake, and more. All the flavors were fresh, moist, and delicious. We had more cake than guests with an open bar and had no leftover cake at the end of the day. I still frequent the shop to buy cupcakes because they're just so tasty!
Flowers: MadisonHouse Designs A+I would also highly recommend Lynette. She was also so prompt to respond, was very receptive to me needing to meet a second time to change my mind about my flowers, and really made my vision come to life. When I arrived at the church, all the bouquets were prettier and more perfect than I imagined. The flowers were so incredibly fresh and stayed that way the entire day. She even included an extra bouquet and a few extra pin on corsages and such in case something happened. The country club flowers were stunning and the church looked just how I wanted it to. I do not have a single thing to complain about with my flowers and the price was much less than a lot of competitors.
DJ: Rob with Columbus Pro DJ A+I was a little hesitant about going with one of the "major companies" because you always hear mixed reviews and they generally cost less. Rob, however, was amazing. He exceeded my expectations probably more than anyone else I hired. I met him twice before the wedding - once early on just to get to know each other and then much closer to the wedding to go over every last detail. My mother-in-law wanted her mother/son dance to be a song that was only performed once and it was performed live on an awards show. Rob was able to go online and get the file somehow and it played perfectly. We still do not know how he pulled it off because it was never formally recorded and thus not on iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Music, etc. He arrived on time and made the entire day ran perfectly. Every song I asked for was played at the exact perfect time. He kept people on the dance floor all night. He practiced all of our names so he had them perfect for introductions. He did exactly what a DJ should do - play great music, keep the day running smoothly, and otherwise, people forget the DJ exists! I already have several engaged friends who booked him just from my wedding and several others that asked for his playlist because they loved the music he played. My father-in-law even threw in an extra tip for Rob because he was just that awesome.
Invitations: PaperblissDesigns on Etsy A+She actually made our invitations, our escort cards, and our table numbers. Her pricing was less than the common websites like Wedding Paper Divas and they were AMAZING. The invitations themselves were three layers to match our 3 wedding colors. It also included the RSVP card, preprinted return envelope, preprinted main envelope (with our return address and each guest address), hotel/travel information card, and a reception info card. They were turn all put together with a custom belly band. And it was literally cheaper than some of the cheaper invitations on Wedding Paper Divas. Then, having the escort cards and table numbers to match was awesome. Her work is quality, she responds fast, she ships fast, and the pricing was amazing. I got so many compliments on my invitations.
Ceremony Music: Columbus Musicians, LLC A+I hired their string trio. They played all the ceremony music except for my walk down the aisle (the church played that on the pipe organ). I communicated with Ian who was also so prompt and very helpful in assisting me choose the music. They showed up early and were dressed very professionally. They played the exact music I requested in the exact order. It went so smooth and the music was so beautiful. They were an excellent choice!
Dress Alterations: Linda Hammond A+I bought my dress at Wendy's (iffy experience) but did not want them to alter it. I ended up going with Linda because she was close. I always found her friendly and pleasant to work with. She was accepting of me having several friends with me during my fittings. I had a pretty big and complex dress and it fit perfect. I could not tell it was altered and it fit like it was made for me! It was pressed and just amazing when I picked it up. Her pricing is reasonable and I would definitely recommend her.
Makeup: Makeup by Tami (Tami Krebs) B+My wedding was at 2:30 PM and I was getting my makeup done along with my mother, my sister, and another bridesmaid. Our get ready time was 12:30 PM and so I asked Tami to arrive around 11:00 AM as my bridesmaids were going to salons to get their hair done. I found out a week before the wedding that she booked another event and had to come at 8:00 AM. That clearly would not work as nobody wanted their makeup done that early, especially before going to a salon to get their hair washed and styled. I was very unhappy, but she would not budge. She ended up offering up her friend to come to my makeup, but I was really nervous because I did not know if this girl was any good and she was not who did my makeup trial. However, it was my only option so I went for it. Her name was Stephanie and she was really flexible with when to come start the makeup. It turns out, it was a blessing in disguise. I liked my makeup SO MUCH BETTER when Stephanie did it. She is honestly a lot more talented than Tami and should branch out on her own!! So I would really recommend hiring Tami for makeup but asking for her friend Stephanie!!
Hair: Gwen at Max the Salon A++++++++I definitely saved the best for last. I am pretty sure this girl was born to do hair. I have had Charles Penzone do my hair many times before and even had director level people do my hair and Gwen blows them all out of the water. In addition, she's bubbly, sweet, and so fun! I was incredibly indecisive with how I wanted my hair and she spent so much time with me practicing different things and giving me her opinion. I gave her a really rough and generic idea of what I wanted and she somehow turned it into a true masterpiece. I loved my hair. Since the wedding, I have continued to go to her for my regular hair (blowouts, hair cuts, hair coloring, etc) and she has continued to be simply amazing. She is hands down, by a long shot, the most talented person who has ever worked on my hair.
Hopefully I did not miss anyone. Let me know if you have questions
