Table Centerpieces - Where to buy in bulk?

I'm having an outdoor garden wedding, with reception in a large tent. I'm going with a boho feel with dark purples and gold accents. I'm looking for a way to spice up the centerpieces with a dark purple placemat to set flwoer vases and votives in the center of the all white tables. I looked a bit at World Market and Pier 1, but they are really pricey since I need to buy 40 of them. Any recommendations where to find them for cheaper or what to use to make my centerpieces pop? I don't want to go with burlap! Thanks for your help!

You're having 40 tables? Even subtracting for the cake table, card/gift table, and escort card table, that's 37 or so tables of eight or ten so it's easily 300 people. I can't imagine how that could ever be a Budget Wedding.

Also, I'd check out Dollar Tree, you might get lucky and find the color you want.

and finding gold ones right now might not be too hard, and would be another item you could look for a Dollar Store or at Michaels the like with a coupon.

What about a sheet of scrapbook paper? Michael's frequently has paper on sale 4 sheets for a dollar.

Just because you can't imagine it doesn't mean it's not possible. A 300 person wedding is certainly likely to cost more than a 50 person wedding, but that's all the more reason to find ways to save money on things like centerpieces.

OP you may be able to find cloth napkins you could open up and use like a placemat.

If you go with the charger idea, here's a simple crafting idea. Find some that are plastic in any color. Give them a light sanding with some very fine grit sandpaper. Then go to your local home improvement store & find the perfect color of purple spray paint & then just spray paint them all to match. If you want to get creative with tape you can do a design on them. Spray paint them in say purple, take some blue painters tape (sticks well but not as strong as regular masking tape) put a design on the plates & then spray the plate in gold & then pull off the tape & have a cool custom design for low cost. It's more an investment in time then money and you've incorporated both of your colors.

This website has some good prices on runners... if you knew someone who was handy with sewing, you could cut up the runners to make multiple placemats!
