  • Do you have a brother or male cousin that maybe wants them? Not saying that to be mean, just curious since they would be nice to pass down to someone who really knew and loved your grandfather.
We did not do wedding gifts, I don't think many people do.

This. If there is no one else in your family who would want them though, I think it's a lovely gift.

  • Why don't you keep them and get him something different? You are the one who knew him well and loved him.

I am not a fan of giving away family things that mean a lot to people outside the family. (I know he will be part of your family soon) It's weird.

I am giving FI a book of tasteful nudies.

  • I dont have brothers or cousins. My uncle took possession onf them when my grandpa died, and I asked him yesterday and he said sure because they have been in the bank ever since.

He loves vintage things and family heirlooms like that and I am sure my grandfather would've loved him and possibly offered. So i thought it would be a good meaningful gift

  • I gave DH cufflinks.

MiL recently gave me a charm that DH's grandmother had made (it has his star sign and birthday engraved on it). It's nice, but I feel like gifts like that put a lot of pressure on me: I have to like it and wear it even if it's not my style.

I'd much rather get something that's "me" rather than something that was "them".
  • @JennyColada definitely agree with you there. I will look through the ones that are in the bank and hopefully I will find something that is his style if I dont find anything then I would probably look for some other gift that fits him.

@larrygaga I would love to do the boudouir thing but ATM its not in the budget so maybe I will get him that as an anniversary present at some point
