Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Maya? Travel Agent?

Anybody doing an all inclusive in Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Maya?  Thoughts on which is better?  Things to consider?  I’m looking at Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta as my cheapest option.  I know cheapest is not always best, but trying to keep costs low for our guests.

 

I met with a travel agent today and got some ideas and quotes.  It seemed helpful, but I’m not sure it is the best way to book.  Thoughts?

    I've been to the Riviera Maya several times and am heading to Punta Mita (near PVR) later this year. The water is much more crystal blue in the RM and the beaches are a bit nicer. There are also many more resort choices in RM. Also, not sure when you are getting married, but the Pacific side tends to have cooler water in the winter months.

    Definitely would get a travel agent, they get you sweet prices too.
