Ceremony rsvp

I already ordered my invitations and the rsvp is for reception I suppose. My ceremony is outside so I have to order chairs... I'm thinking to make on card stock a separate rsvp for the ceremony since I already have in hand my invitations I'll have to manually make anything else I insert. I need a clever quote I guess to put on the rsvp card. For example- to accompany us in exchanging our vows please include this rsvp card. But obviously something more clever. --- Send me back this rsvp to save u a seat, But need it to include this one is for ceremony purposes. Ideas please!!!!!

    Just count the RSVP's for the reception and Viola!  there is the number of chairs you order for the ceremony.  No need to make a seperate RSVP, that is silly.

    Not everyone will come to the ceremony that is rsvping for the reception. But I guess I could just hope for the best

    How far in advance do you have to submit your rental order for the chairs?  I am guessing it is before your RSVP deadline (which should be at the most 3 weeks prior to your wedding).  So order enough chairs for every single guest you have invited.  If some aren't used, oh well.  But you must always plan your wedding under the idea that 100% of people will attend.  It is called being better safe then sorry.

    And I think your guests will be confused as hell when they are asked to RSVP to both your ceremony and reception.

    Is this common in your area?  I have yet to attend a reception without attending a ceremony.  There has been a case, however, where I have attended a ceremony and NOT the reception (and RSVP'd accordingly.)

    Is this common in your area?  I have yet to attend a reception without attending a ceremony.  There has been a case, however, where I have attended a ceremony and NOT the reception (and RSVP'd accordingly.) 
    This.  Typically when you RSVP to a wedding you are RSVPing to both the ceremony and reception.

    The only weddings that I have been to where there are fewer guests attending the ceremony than the reception are weddings with enormous gaps in between the ceremony and the reception (don't do this, please!)

    Separate RSVPs might also give the impression that some people aren't invited to one or the other. Even though everyone would be receiving both, if I received your invitation I would assume that you sent two RSVPs because you invited others to the ceremony but not the reception. I would also think this is very rude.

    I agree with PPs -- one RSVP card and order enough chairs for every butt. Sometimes, people won't show and sometimes people that RSVP still show. It's better to be safe than sorry.

    Why? Is it a tiered wedding (definite no-no)? Or is it an intemate, family-only ceremony?
