No wedding band that matches e-ring.....

Hello all!  First time poster, long time reader.

My fiance picked this gorgeous engagement ring that is three stone with a very high setting.  The ring does not have a wedding band to match, which leads me to here.  I am having a terrible time finding the right band without paying the cost to get it custom made.  My question, does the band "have" to match the e-ring?  I almost just want to get a band that matches my fiance wedding band, which is plain and brushed silver colored.  Anyone else have or had this problem?  What did you do?

Re: No wedding band that matches e-ring.....

  • No, the band does not have to match the e-ring.  I think getting a band that matches your FI wedding band would be very nice.  You should pick a band that you love and will love to wear for many years, not just because it happens to match your e-ring.

My band matches my e-ring but it did not come as a set.  I just have a simple half eternity e-ring band so finding a matching wedding band was pretty easy.  But I mainly got it because I loved the simplicity and the fact that it was thin.

    So get what you love.

    STUCK -----

I personally don't like the look of many sets and decided to wear my e-ring on my right hand and get a completely different wedding ring. It is considered a "fashion ring" but IDGAF. It's my wedding band.

This is one of the few things where you can do whatever the hell you want and nothing is wrong. You could get the plain ring and wear it with your e-ring, wear them on different fingers, get some other ring and wear wherever or not even get a new ring at all and use the e-ring as your wedding ring as well.

Your wedding band doesn't even have to coordinate with your engagement ring. If you post a pic of your engagement ring, and want the advice, some posters are pretty good about finding images for you.
  • Thank you friends....here are pictures of the ring.  See my dilemma???
  • Your ring is beautiful!! why would you want to add a wedding band? My e-ring also has a lot of detail and I opt it for no wedding band. I am thinking about wedding an anniversary band to wear on my right hand.

  • Beautiful ring! I had the same problem. The e-ring my FI picked out and gave to me is an irregular shape and hard to match without getting something custom-made, which is way our of our price range. In my case, FI had gotten the wrong ring size so the e-ring actually fits my middle finger perfectly (it's too big for my ring finger but I wear it there anyway). We ended up just picking out somewhat similar wedding bands and the plan is to just wear the e-ring on my middle finger after we get married, if not just put it away.

You can always just wear the e-ring on the right hand, put it away, or opt to use the e-ring as the wedding band. Your wedding band doesn't have to match your e-ring so just get what you really like. :)

  • Your e-ring is gorgeous!  I think a plain, simple band would be best.  Anything else would just be trying to compete with your e-ring, while a simple band would highlight your gorgeous ring.

But that is if you want to wear your rings on the same finger.  If you are open to wearing your e-ring on your right hand then you can purchase just about anything for your wedding band.

  • This all helps so much!  Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • My ring doesn't have a matching band either.  I managed to find a curved band that fits with it well enough.  I like the idea of a band with mine and didn't want to have to pay for custom either.  Here is what my set will be.

  • I know you said that you wanted to avoid custom, but have you explored it? I was surprised to find that the price difference wasn't large as I expected, and we got exactly what we wanted.
  • I haven't yet but we are going to go to the jewelers tonight...so I will ask.
