Boss went home early

I get to laugh and not worry about getting in trouble.

Doing a little dance in my chair, as I peer over my monitors to make sure boss did leave.

Kinda look like Kilroy, or Wilson...

My boss typically leaves between 2 and 2:30 on Fridays, so I'm going to find out shortly if that trend is still on.

I hope so.  I don't hate her, but she's loud (deaf in one ear and yells to compensate) and has an annoying voice to boot.

She talks on speaker phone all the time with her door open so even though I'm like 50 feet or more from her office, I can hear her all the time.

Enjoy your last few hours boss-free!

ETA:  And instead of calling people on their phones when she needs them in her office, she yells out to them.  "FEELEY!"  *screech*  This is a pet peeve of mine.  You have a phone 6 inches from your hand; use it....  We are professionals AND people; not dogs.
  • Actually my boss is great. I can't complain, but when he's not here things just seem less stress. Now if I can get the others in my department to go home too, then I can really laugh.

  • My boss is awesome. As long as I get all my work done and continue growing my job responsibilities (and don't do anything detrimental to the company), it's all good. We all realize sometimes you need 5 minutes away from a task to refocus.

I totally get that.  My boss travels a few times a month; sometimes for 4-5 days sometimes just one, but things are more relaxed when she's gone.
  • I actually work more when my boss is gone because then I am inundated with emails and texts that she wants instantaneous answers to, even if an instantaneous answer is impossible.  I can't even count on it being quiet when she goes on vacation because she'll wake up to email and text the office while she's there even if she's in a different time zone.

  • My boss is leaving at 1 PM today (I'm a westcoaster). I tend to work a lot more efficiently when she's gone because she's not distracting me, or taking me away from what I'm working on.

  • Once when my boss called in sick, he must have sent 20 emails to me to find out a price and then I was also getting texts from him at the same time. But yet I still get more done to when he's not here. I was able to get my desk cleaned off the week of Christmas because him and my 2nd boss where both on vacation.

But then I took the following week off and came back to uh oh, can't keep up...

  • My boss always leaves earlier than me. Perks of being the boss I guess haha. I get in before him and stay later. He's pretty good about forcing me out early though. When he leaves at 1 or 2 he tells me 'make sure you get out before rush hour! Dont stay too late!'. We live near each other on the other side of the city, so he knows my pain with rushhour.
