  The invitations for my shower went out around Christmas, and mine aren't going out until the last day of February (that way they arrive 8 weeks before my wedding).  This totally normal and fine.

  What would you do?

  I would choose a shower date based on what's most convenient for you and then make sure the invites get sent about 4 weeks in advance. That's all.

  Yep. I agree with PPs. I'm pretty sure my shower invites went out before the wedding invitations. Come to think of it, I think the shower happened before wedding invitations went out...

  I believe it's quite customary for the shower invite to go out before the wedding invite.

  
  

  And I say this because my step mom was freaking out that she didn't send the shower invites before I sent the wedding invites.
