When you went and tried on dresses, did you do your hair special and have your makeup done or just go like you normally do on a day to day basis.

I knew I wanted my hair up for the wedding so I wore it in a loose side bun similar to what I had in mind. I wanted to get a better idea of 'full picture'

I didnt get my hair or makeup done professionally though. I just went with a simple updo and maybe a bit heavier makeup than my day to day.

It definitely helped me get a better picture of what I would look like on the day. Rather than just having my hair in a ponytail and no makeup which is my everyday style.

No, i did nothing special other than wearing appropriate under garmets (nude color, strapless bra etc)

I put a little extra makeup on than usual and did my hair similar to PP, in a low messy side bun because I know I want a low side updo for the wedding. I wanted to see the big picture, especially with how a veil was going to look with my hair.

I've read that some bridal salons make you take your makeup off so you don't get it on the samples. That didn't happen to me anywhere I shopped, but maybe don't get your makeup professionally done just in case? Would be a shame to waste $$$ on makeup and then have to wipe it all off.

I went as normal. I didn't know how I wanted to do my hair or what the makeup would look like since I didn't have my MUA yet and I don't usually do anything special with my hair or makeup. I showed pictures of the dress to my MUA for her to determine what would look best with it when I went for the preview.

If you know or have an idea of how you want your hair or makeup done, I would suggest trying on dresses with what you can do to get close to the look you want on your own. I wouldn't spend money on having it done professionally or anything for it. If you don't know, then you can just go as normal and have pictures of the dress ready for your MUA.

I threw my hair up in a messy bun when I got to the bridal shop because I was hot and having my hair down while trying on dresses was annoying. My makeup was my usual makeup. I didn't even think about my hair or makeup when I decided on my dress. All I was concerned about was if my body looked good in the dress. I will say that when my consultant added the blinged out head band that pretty much sealed the deal for me.

I went light on the makeup (mascara and a little bit of concealer) because the bridal stores I went to asked not to wear makeup while trying on dresses. I put a little more effort than normal into styling my hair.

No special makeup, but I did wear my hair in a low side pony, since I knew I would be going that route for the wedding day. I don't think it really made much of a difference though :-)

Thanks everyone for the info. I have short hair si I'll just style it like I normally do. I also don't wear hardly any makeup, so I'll put a little on to give me some color.

I did all of my dress shopping during lunch hours during the work week, so I just wore my regular work attire and undergarments, no special hairdo, no makeup. My thought was that I wanted to feel really comfortable in the dress with my "everyday" look. This way I knew I would end up with something that was really "me", instead of trying for a look that wasn't really natural. Then, on my wedding day I can glam it up a bit without feeling the need to go overboard.

My dress is as comfortable as my pajamas and it makes me feel amazing even without hair and makeup! Score!

I was my usual gross self. I hardly ever wear makeup or stye my hair. I wore jeans, old sneakers and a 12 year old sweatshirt. I figured if it's a good dress for me then I'm gonna look good in it with all these things working against it. It needed to prove itself damnit!

I had my hair in a side braid and my whole family teased me about it, so I threw it into a high sloppy bun. Makeup was my normal "seeing people today, try not to look like a dog" makeup.
