Fifth Anniversary 500 Love Its 500 Comments First Answer

So I'm working at Company A right now, and I was leaving for Company B the past Monday, but Company A wanted to keep me and offered a job last Friday. I wanted to stay here at Company A because it's so much closer to my house, while Company B is in the city (Chicago) and I would have to commute and take a bus and train to get there. 

So I'm doing the happy dance :D:D:D:D

    So I would like to clarify. Company B offered you a job. You told A you were leaving, and because they wanted to keep you, Company A promoted you to a better job?

    Yes! Sorry, I was vague on that. 

    Company B offered me a job, Company A (current) heard I had a job offer from Company B, so Company A offered a better position with more money. I currently work in the hell desk, taking phone calls and receiving abuse but no one cares, so I will finally move onto another department.

    I feel like I suddenly matter to this company, so I'm happy and FI is happy because he knows how miserable I am here at the hell desk. I start next week with my new team.
