    Anywhere from 12 - 6 mos. out is fine. If it's a destination wedding for most of your guests, they might appreciate a little more notice to plan for travel/vacation time from work.

    STDates are never required.  If it's easier to just Tell people when your wedding is, that's fine.  But if you really want to do them, I'd say 6-9 months before your wedding.

    We sent ours out in November. We'll be getting married this October. We have a lot of guests coming in from out of town (even out of the province), so we wanted to give a lot of notice.

    We had a fair number of guests who would have to travel, some for over seas,  so we sent them out 9 months in advance. This was to allow our guests plenty of time to book & also plan financially for the trip.
