GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING.

After six long months of FI working as a contractor, working 60+ hours one week and then thinking he would be out of work the next week, we found out today that he's FINALLY being converted to a permanent employee. We've been hoping and praying for this for sooo long. They offered FI less money than he makes as a contractor (which we expected) but the benefits are really good - just in time for all the dental work and doctor appointments FI has coming up.

Also, we got over our issues with the honeymoon and booked our hotels and transportation for a week and a half in Italy! Yay!!! Now that FI is less stressed out about work, he's getting really excited about it.

AND!!! I have my first hair trial and dress fitting on Wednesday, so I'm taking the day off work and a good friend is coming with me.

What are you ladies excited about this week? Share some good news!

  • Woohoo that's great!!!
I think DH is going to use a sick day Saturday and he's always complaining that we sit home and don't do stuff, so we might go snow tubing.

  • We're about to be kid-free for 3 days. I love the kid but teen boys can be hideous.

And, better yet- we signed another client at work! They're a pretty huge name in the industry and they're paying full price. It's finally feeling like we're going to be a big success.

That's awesome! And they will pay payroll tax so even if its less money he won't have to pay that part, right? So happy that this is happening for you!

I booked a trip to Hawaii, my rotator cuff that I injured months ago is slowly getting better, I lost a couple pounds and work is going really well.

ETA: When I say "that part" I meant self employment tax which I know is a huge expense.

They had FI set up to work through an employment agency, so even though he was a contractor the agency took care of withholding and provides a W2, so that's good. And yay for Hawaii! When are you going?

@lolo883 I love your new sig pic!

@wandajune6 That is super exciting! I manage one of my department's biggest clients and they hardly pay full price for anything, so I get that it's a big deal. Have fun on your kid free weekend!

  • Awesome for hubby's permanent job!

I bought plane tickets last night for Orlando.  Going to Disney with DD, her DH, and their 2 kids.  It  has been my serious fantasy to take my g'kids to Disney but my wallet doesn't support that idea.  I told them I would be there tour guide and babysitter (this is my 6th time going) and BOOM, I'm going to Disney!!

Maybe the other 4 g'kids will be able to go next year.  I get to go on that one too!

  • I had a good week! I got my first business school acceptance letter on Wednesday! I am officially going back to school!
